Check out what happened in Tower Heist!

In the heart of New York City's luxury living, The Tower on Central Park West stood tall, its employees a diverse and vibrant tapestry woven together by the threads of their daily routines. There was Josh Kovacs (Ben Stiller), the building manager with a watchful eye, Charlie (Casey Affleck) - expecting a child with Josh's sister - who kept the concierge desk warm, Enrique (Michael Peña) - the newest addition to the elevator team - whose bright smile lit up the floors, Lester (Stephen Henderson) - the doorman on the cusp of retirement - whose years of service had earned him a revered place in the Tower's hierarchy, Odessa (Gabourey Sidibe) - a Jamaican maid with a work visa - whose gentle touch and warm heart soothed the residents, and Miss Iovenko (Nina Arianda) - the receptionist - who stole moments away to study for her bar exam amidst the hum of activity.

One morning, Josh's keen eye spotted what appeared to be a kidnapping unfolding before his very eyes. The culprit? Arthur Shaw (Alan Alda), a wealthy businessman and Tower tenant. Josh gave chase, hot on Shaw's heels, only to be clothes-lined by FBI agent Claire Denham (Téa Leoni). As the dust settled, Denham revealed that Shaw wasn't being spirited away, but was attempting to flee arrest - accused of running a Ponzi scheme. The news sent shockwaves through the Tower, and Josh shared the devastating truth with his staff: their pension fund had been invested in Shaw's scheme, leaving their nest egg in shambles.

The aftermath saw Lester struggling to come to terms with his financial losses, attempting to find solace in the tracks of a moving train. His despair struck a chord with Josh, Charlie, and Enrique, who converged on Shaw's penthouse apartment to confront him about his role in their misfortunes. The would-be thief's insincere condolences only fueled their anger, culminating in Josh exacting a measure of revenge by shattering the windows of Shaw's prized 1963 Ferrari 250 GT Lusso. The General Manager (Judd Hirsch) was incensed by Josh's actions and promptly fired him, Charlie, and Enrique.

It was then that Josh crossed paths with Denham at a bar, where she proposed they drown their sorrows together. As the night wore on, she suggested in jest that Josh find Shaw's cash safety net - a notion that sparked an idea in his mind. Gathering Charlie, Enrique, and former Tower tenant Mr. Fitzhugh (Matthew Broderick) - a man who had lost everything to the whims of the market - they hatched a plan to pilfer Shaw's ill-gotten gains. Mr. Fitzhugh, once a high-stakes player on Wall Street, now brought his expertise to the table, having been forced into bankruptcy and evicted from his home due to financial woes.

As their scheme took shape, Charlie raised concerns about their lack of thieving experience. Josh countered by recruiting Slide (Eddie Murphy), his childhood friend and neighborhood petty criminal - a masterclass in mischief. However, even Slide's expertise was insufficient to crack the safe in Shaw's penthouse apartment. It was then that Odessa, whose family had once operated a locksmith business, stepped forward to offer her skills. As the team prepared to execute their daring heist, they knew that the stakes were higher than ever before, but with their combined efforts and cunning, they might just find themselves walking away with more than they bargained for.

As the tension mounts, Charlie (actor name) drops a bombshell on Josh: he's been rehired as the Tower's new manager, and warns Josh to steer clear or face the consequences. Josh learns that Shaw is scheduled for a hearing on Thanksgiving Day during the iconic Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade, a clever ploy by Denham to avoid unwanted publicity, which would ultimately set Shaw free. In response, Josh concocts a daring plan with his team to infiltrate Shaw's apartment during the parade. Under the guise of a family emergency, Josh commandeers Enrique to swipe his sister's phone and sends a fake distress signal to Charlie, convincing her that her waters have broken and prompting her to abandon ship.

Meanwhile, Slide becomes disillusioned with the group's efforts and decides to strike out on his own, exploiting Odessa's knowledge of Shaw's safe combination. However, Josh is hot on his trail and traps him in the elevator, thwarting Slide's solo operation. The team then converges on Shaw's apartment, where they uncover a hidden safe behind a cleverly disguised false wall. Odessa takes center stage, using her newfound expertise to crack the safe and reveal its contents – or lack thereof.

Slide reappears, having escaped the elevator, and pulls out a gun, threatening Josh for his cut of the loot. A tense standoff ensues between Slide and Fitzhugh, culminating in a accidental discharge that reveals a surprise beneath the Ferrari's paint job: a layer of gold. The team pieces together Shaw's cunning plan – he invested his ill-gotten gains in gold, had it melted down, and reassembled the car parts in his apartment, hiding the loot in plain sight.

As Josh delves deeper into the mystery, he uncovers a ledger detailing Shaw's illicit financial dealings hidden in the glove box. The team then executes a daring heist, lowering the car six floors to Fitzhugh's old apartment and eventually to the lobby via an elevator. Just as they're about to escape, Denham and Shaw return, their Thanksgiving court date being nothing more than a ruse. Denham catches wind of Shaw's hidden safe and informs him that his failure to declare it on the inventory list is a violation of his bail conditions – a serious infraction that lands Shaw back in custody.

As Denham closes in on Lester, she's shocked to find him abandoning a stolen truck, initially assuming he's making off with the prized Ferrari. However, her pursuit proves fruitless, as the vehicle turns out to be empty. The FBI swiftly moves in, apprehending Lester and his accomplices, including Josh. As Denham personally cuffs Josh, she can't help but offer him a private nod of approval. Meanwhile, Josh's interrogators at the FBI are momentarily interrupted by the arrival of Miss Iovenko, who reveals she's just passed her bar exam with flying colors and has taken it upon herself to defend Josh as his attorney. With Shaw's ledger in hand, she proposes a deal: in exchange for everyone's freedom, she'll relinquish the incriminating document. The authorities agree, but only on condition that Josh, as the primary mastermind, must serve a minimum two-year sentence.

The team then sets out to reclaim the Ferrari from its hiding spot atop Shaw's building – his rooftop pool, to be exact. As they do, they discreetly distribute parts of the car to Tower employees, providing them with compensation for their lost pensions. The film concludes with Shaw beginning his life sentence behind bars, while Josh is led away in handcuffs, a subtle smile spreading across his face, hinting at a sense of satisfaction and accomplishment.
