Carole Bouquet

Carole Bouquet, born on 18 August 1957 in Neuilly-sur‑Seine, France, is a celebrated French actress whose career spans more than four decades and includes over sixty film credits. From her striking debut in Luis Buñuel’s surreal classic "That Obscure Object of Desire" (1977) to her iconic role as Bond girl Melina Havelock opposite Roger Moore in "For Your Eyes Only" (1981), Bouquet has consistently demonstrated a magnetic screen presence. She earned critical acclaim with a César Award nomination for Best Supporting Actress for "Rive droite, rive gauche" (1984) and secured the prestigious César Award for Best Actress for her nuanced performance in "Too Beautiful for You" (1989). Throughout the 1980s she also became the face of Chanel No. 5, embodying the luxury brand’s timeless elegance from 1986 to 1997, which solidified her status as a style icon. Beyond acting, Bouquet has cultivated a diverse personal life; she was the partner of producer Jean‑Pierre Rassam, with whom she had a son, producer Dimitri Rassam, and later gave birth to another son, Louis, with photographer Francis Giacobetti. Her marriage to immunologist Jacques Leibowitch lasted from 1992 until their divorce in 1996, and she later shared a long‑term relationship with legendary actor Gérard Depardieu. In addition to her artistic pursuits, Bouquet has contributed to the film community as a juror, serving on the Cannes Film Festival main competition jury in 2014 and on the Shanghai International Film Festival jury in 1999. Since 2005 she has managed her own winery, Maison Carole Bouquet, on the island of Pantelleria, blending her love for viticulture with her celebrated public image.
