Calum Worthy

Calum Worthy (born January 28, 1991) in Victoria, British Columbia, Canada, began his acting journey at the tender age of nine when he appeared in the Fox anthology series Night Visions. By ten, he was already crossing continents, starring in the British miniseries I Was a Rat, and over the next two decades he amassed more than fifty film and television credits across five countries—Canada, the United States, Australia, the United Kingdom, and Singapore. Worthy's early career was marked by guest spots on popular shows such as Kyle XY, Supernatural, Smallville, Flashpoint, R. L. Stine’s The Haunting Hour, Good Luck Charlie, Zeke and Luther, and Two and a Half Men, showcasing his versatility in both drama and comedy. His breakthrough came with the Disney Channel’s Austin & Ally, where he portrayed the quirky Dez Wade, a role that earned him a loyal fan base and allowed him to pen an episode of the series. In 2013 he expanded his creative repertoire by co‑creating, writing, and executive producing the sketch comedy series The Coppertop Flop Show, which aired on Disney Channel and highlighted his talent for quick‑witted, self‑referential humor.

Beyond Disney, Worthy demonstrated his dramatic chops in the Netflix true‑crime satire American Vandal as Alex Trimboli and delivered a chilling performance as Nicholas Godejohn in Hulu’s anthology The Act. He was later cast as Jasper in Netflix’s thriller Pieces of Her and was attached to the ill‑fated New Warriors as Speedball. A two‑time Young Artist Award winner and Leo Award recipient, Worthy also pursues entrepreneurial ventures as co‑founder and head of business development at the AI‑education startup 2wai, blending his artistic sensibility with cutting‑edge technology. His commitment to education led him to enroll in university courses whenever his filming schedule permitted, reflecting his belief that continual learning fuels creative growth. Worthy’s early work earned him two Young Artist Awards for Leading Young Actor—first for the comedy film National Lampoon’s Thanksgiving Family Reunion (2003) and later for the sci‑fi television series Stormworld (2009)—as well as a Leo Award in 2010 for his performance in the same series.
