Andrea Bræin Hovig

Andrea Bræin Hovig (born 19 July 1973) is a prominent Norwegian actress who graduated from the esteemed Norwegian National Academy of Theatre in 1998. Since her graduation, she has showcased her acting prowess at Det Norske Teatret (the Norwegian Theater) and Nationaltheatret (the National Theatre), earning both acclaim and popularity. Her myriad roles include mesmerizing performances as 'Juliet' in Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet, and 'Hilde' in Ibsen's The Lady from the Sea. The year 2000 marked a significant milestone in Hovig's career, as she got honored with Anders Jahre's cultural award for young artists. Beyond stage acting, Hovig has not shied away from acting in films and on television. Her credits encompass De 7 dødssyndene (The 7 Deadly Sins, 2000), and the TV show Berlinerpoplene (2007). In addition to acting, Hovig is a singer, she has graced the stage in the musical Chicago and released an album of standard songs. Her versatile talent was further recognized in 2018 when she portrayed the school teacher, Elin Müller Schulman in Kielergata.
