The film opens with the aftermath of a life-changing car accident, as Nikhil Oberoi and his wife Simar N. Oberoi begin a tough road to recovery. Simar emerges unscathed, while Nikhil bears the brunt of physical injuries and a deep case of psychogenic amnesia. Despite the severity, Simar remains steadfast, arranging the best surgeons to reconstruct his injured leg and face and guiding him through grueling physiotherapy. Her unwavering devotion is steady, almost hopeful, as she believes time and care will restore his life to its former rhythm.

Over the course of six months, the couple works through rehabilitation and slowly reintegrates into daily life. Nikhil is cautious at first, but Simar’s support and patience begin to break through his defenses. When they return home, the sense of normalcy is fragile but real, and the two try to rebuild a shared world built on trust and love. Yet the quiet healing is interrupted as Nikhil starts sifting through his personal files and reconnecting with old friends, uncovering hints that something was not right in the years before the accident. A lingering doubt gnaws at him: is his wife truly who she seems to be, and what did his past look like?

This doubt deepens when Nikhil reengages with a friend named Tanya S. Thakur. She hints that on the night of the crash, Nikhil had been prepared to leave Simar, accusing her of infidelity. Disturbed, he hires a private investigator, Chamanlal, to dig into the truth. The investigation uncovers a troubling pattern: Simar had indeed been involved with a man named Kabir, and the affair appears to loom over the couple’s life. Nikhil secretly overhears a phone conversation in which Simar insists the relationship with Kabir is over because she has fallen back in love with him. She agrees to one last encounter with Kabir, and Nikhil follows her to a secluded house. There he witnesses a dramatic confrontation between Simar and Kabir and, in a tense chase through the woods, the truth seems to come to light.

The revelation is brutal: Simar has staged the entire scenario. Kabir was never on the phone, nor in the house, because he has been dead the whole time. Simar confesses that on the night of the accident, Nikhil had discovered Simar and Kabir together, and in a rage, he killed Kabir. Simar wanted to shield him from guilt and believed his amnesia could offer a fresh start for their relationship. Nikhil reluctantly accepts this version and reconciles with Simar, torn between love and a growing sense of manipulation.

The story takes a sharper turn when Tanya provides new information, and Nikhil experiences vivid flashbacks to the night of the crash. He and Chamanlal uncover a buried clue: Kabir’s body lies frozen beneath the snow, its face strikingly identical to his own. The shocking truth dawns: Kabir is the real person behind Nikhil’s assumed identity. The past reveals that the real Nikhil was emotionally abusive toward Simar, and Kabir had become involved with her after witnessing Nikhil’s neglect. Kabir and Simar’s bond had grown complicated; Kabir tried to leave, and Simar threatened self-harm if he departed. When Nikhil arrived and confronted Kabir, a violent confrontation occurred, Kabir died, and the couple buried the body.

In the present, Kabir, furious that his identity was hijacked by Simar, and Chamanlal aim to bring Nikhil’s body to the police. But Simar shoots Chamanlal to prevent them from exposing the truth. Kabir refuses to accept the swapped life, and Simar tries to annihilate them both so they can be together in death, yet Kabir escapes while Simar is left pursuing a fatal ending. The final act culminates with Kabir arriving at the police station, carrying Nikhil’s corpse, while the end credits roll over Kabir recounting the truth to the officers. The film closes on a tension-filled note, leaving the audience weighing loyalty, memory, and the price of hiding a dangerous secret.
