In the 19th century, a boy named Charles watches as a werewolf slaughters his family. Before dying, his mother passes down a silver amulet in the shape of a wolf head—a family heirloom from his grandfather, a legendary Great Hunter of werewolves. The boy survives when a trap is sprung, causing a chandelier to crash down and kill the creature. Twenty-five years pass, and Charles has become a werewolf bounty-hunter, part of a harsh tradition where lycanthropy is real and the infected are typically shot in the head and burned. Werewolves can only transform during the full moon, and Charles and his team are hired to pursue a new breed that can shift three nights in a row.
Daniel, apprenticed to the town’s Doc, has spent time studying the werewolf’s victims to understand how it behaves. He witnesses Charles expose a scam by a rival bounty-hunter, Jaeger, in front of the townsfolk. Impressed, Daniel offers his help to Charles, who reluctantly accepts. Eva, Daniel’s wealthy girlfriend, tries to talk him out of hunting and into studying at the medical college in the city, but fails. Stefan, a companion of Charles, flirts with Eva, much to Daniel’s annoyance.
During the next full moon, Jaeger and some friends try to poach the werewolf from Charles’ group. Instead, they trigger all the traps that Charles and his crew had prepared earlier. The werewolf reveals that it is as intelligent as a person, not a mindless monster. The local Romani leader tells Charles and Daniel that the werewolf will soon be able to transform at will. Having lost faith in the bounty-hunters, the townsfolk decide to take matters into their own hands. The town constable has drawn up a list of people with insufficient alibis, and some are jailed. Daniel’s mother, Vadoma, is locked away and placed under armed guard, as are Eva’s father and the town constable.
The next night, the constable suffers an epileptic seizure and is shot by guards who mistakenly believe him to be transforming. In a panic, the guards kill every prisoner except Vadoma and the Romani leader, who escape in the ruins. Jaeger, who narrowly survived, is used as bait in a new trap by Charles. The werewolf battles the hunters and wins, but strangely does not kill them. Daniel is haunted by nightmares of the monster and wakes with injuries matching the creature’s. Horrified, he discovers that he is the werewolf.
Charles interrogates the doctor, confirming suspicions that Daniel might be the werewolf. He confronts Daniel, who begs to be killed, but the doctor shoots Charles from behind and admits to training Daniel to hunt and kill people. Horrified, Daniel flees to Eva’s house, where Stefan is assaulting her. The two fight to a stalemate, despite Daniel’s werewolf strength. That night, Stefan puts Daniel on display for the townsfolk to see him transform. Daniel transforms, breaks free of his shackles, and flees. Vadoma, pleading for mercy for her son, is killed by mistake.
Stefan and Daniel clash in front of Eva. Stefan reveals himself to be a hundred-year-old wurdalak, granting him unnatural strength. Daniel impales Stefan on a spike, and the wurdalak’s body disintegrates. The doctor reappears and orders Daniel, still in werewolf form, to kill Eva. Instead, Charles appears and shoots the doctor from behind. Daniel returns to human form, and Charles frees him, giving him the amulet and declaring that he is the hunter now. Eva and Daniel share a kiss as Charles and his crew walk away.

Becoming a bounty-hunter
Twenty-five years pass and Charles has become a hardened werewolf bounty-hunter. He operates within a harsh tradition that treats lycanthropy as a threat to be eliminated. A new breed of werewolves can transform across three nights in a row, raising the stakes for his team.
Daniel joins the hunt
Daniel, apprenticed to the town's Doc, studies the werewolf victims to understand the creature's behavior. He witnesses Charles expose a scam by rival bounty-hunter Jaeger in front of the townsfolk. Impressed, Daniel offers his help to Charles, who reluctantly accepts.
Love and ambition
Eva, Daniel's wealthy girlfriend, tries to persuade him to study medicine in the city instead of hunting. Her wish is to secure a safer future for him. Stefan, a loyal companion of Charles, flirts with Eva, creating tension with Daniel.
The full moon trap
During the next full moon, Jaeger and his crew attempt to poach Charles's werewolf, but trigger the traps Charles had laid. The werewolf reveals a sharp intellect, contradicting the townsfolk's view of it as a mindless monster. A Romani leader warns that the creature will soon transform at will.
Town crackdown
The townsfolk take matters into their own hands, drawing up alibis and preparing to jail suspects. Daniel's mother Vadoma is locked away, along with Eva's father and the town constable. Fear and suspicion begin to drive neighbors apart.
Guard panic and escape
On the following night, the constable suffers an epileptic seizure and is shot by guards who mistake it for a transformation. In the ensuing panic, guards kill every prisoner except Vadoma and the Romani leader, who escape into the ruins. The town's grip on fear tightens further.

The display and the wurdalak
That night, Stefan puts Daniel on display for the townsfolk to witness his transformation. Daniel, still in werewolf form, breaks free of his shackles and escapes, while Stefan’s true power is revealed in his uncanny strength as a wurdalak.
The wurdalak downfall
Stefan, revealed as a hundred-year-old wurdalak, clashes with Daniel and is ultimately impaled on a spike, the wurdalak’s body disintegrating as the strength of the ancient foe collapses. Daniel survives the brutal confrontation but is forever changed by what he has learned.
The doctor’s last order
The Doctor reappears and, still allied with the town's dark power, orders Daniel, now partially transformed, to kill Eva. Charles intervenes by shooting the Doctor from behind, exposing the manipulation. Daniel returns to human form, and Charles frees him, placing the amulet in his hands and proclaiming him the hunter.
A fragile ending
Eva and Daniel share a kiss, forging a fragile bond amid a town still gripped by fear. Charles and his crew walk away, with a new hunter among them and the amulet signaling a shifting balance of power. The future remains uncertain, but a path forward has finally opened.

In a mist‑shrouded 19th‑century village, the thin line between myth and medicine trembles under the weight of an ancient menace. The remote hamlet clings to traditions that speak of wolf‑like beasts prowling the surrounding woods, while the quiet streets buzz with the cautious optimism of a society on the brink of modern science. Lantern light flickers over cobblestones, and every rustle in the forest carries the promise of something both primal and terrifying, setting a tone that is equal parts gothic dread and restless curiosity.
At the heart of this uneasy world is Daniel, a diligent apprentice studying under the local doctor. His fascination with the creature’s behavior draws him into the orbit of Charles, a seasoned hunter whose family has long been tasked with tracking the hunters‑turned‑prey. Alongside them moves Eva, Daniel’s wealthy and determined companion, whose presence adds both emotional stakes and social contrast to the hunt. Stefan, a steadfast ally of Charles, rounds out the small band, each bringing a distinct perspective—scholar, veteran, and lover—to the looming threat. Their interactions weave a fragile tapestry of trust, ambition, and the lingering shadows of personal loss.
Together, this unlikely troupe is summoned to pursue a new, enigmatic wolf‑like entity that has begun to unsettle the village’s fragile peace. The chase promises to test the limits of science against folklore, reason against fear, and camaraderie against the unknown. As the hunters prepare their strategies, the atmosphere thickens with anticipation, hinting at secrets buried beneath the forest’s canopy and the looming question of who—if anyone—can truly master the beast that stalks the night.
