It has been a year since Nick Prescott [Kevin Sorbo] became the sheriff of Boone, Texas, and cleaned up the town. Now, he is moving to Dallas so he can be with his FBI agent fiancée Kate Jensen [Yvette Nipar] and her 12-year-old daughter Samantha Jensen [Haley Ramm]. Currently, Kate is one of the many people working to put away Octavio Perez [Rodrigo De la Rosa], the biggest drug kingpin in the central states. When the two main witnesses against Perez are killed by his men in a safe-house, the testimony of Kate and three other investigators, including Lt. Doug Maxwell [Mark W. They are lodged in another safe-house to wait for the trial, but the place is invaded by Perez’s men, and two of the agents are executed, leaving Kate and Maxwell alive, but Kate is in critical condition. Nick believes that there is a traitor who is leaking the safe house locations to Perez’s men. Nick saves Kate from an attempt on her life at the hospital, and takes Kate and Samantha to his ranch in Boone, where Kate can continue to recover, with Nick’s mother Emma Prescott [Gail Cronauer] helping to watch over her and Nick has some of his friends watching over the ranch to make sure no one gets to Kate, Emma, and Samantha.

After Kate wakes up and is up to walking around, she looks back on when she was shot, and she remembers something that leads her to realize that Maxwell is the traitor. After Maxwell and some of Perez’s men kidnap Nick, along with Kate’s boss, Marcia Tunney [Elizabeth Barondes], Perez and his men get the location of the ranch, and leave to go after Kate. Nick tells Tunney that he will send her some help, and then he races to the ranch, and he gets there before Perez and his men do. Perez and his men arrive, and gunfire erupts. In the restless streets of Dallas, the line between justice and danger blurs beneath a sky heavy with secrets. Nick Prescott has spent a year as the sheriff of a quiet Texas town, earning a reputation for cleaning up crime with unwavering grit. When he leaves that world behind to join his fiancée, seasoned FBI agent Kate Jensen, the couple steps into a metropolitan arena where law‑enforcement battles are fought in shadows and whispers. Adding a tender layer to the mix, Kate’s 12‑year‑old daughter Samantha Jensen brings a fragile sense of home to a place where the stakes are anything but ordinary.

Within this high‑octane environment, a crucial legal case hangs in the balance. The testimony of a handful of federal investigators becomes the keystone for bringing a powerful drug lord to account, and the very safety of those witnesses turns the city’s underworld into a hunting ground. Safe houses and covert meet‑ups dot the landscape, each one a temporary island of protection that could be compromised at any moment. The atmosphere crackles with the uneasy feeling that something vital—perhaps a single piece of information—could tip the scales between order and chaos.

Against this backdrop, Nick finds himself thrust from the badge of a small‑town sheriff into a protective role that tests both his instincts and his loyalties. Kate balances the cold precision of an agent with the warmth of a mother and partner, while Samantha offers an unexpected resilience that steadies those around her. Their world converges on a remote ranch, a seemingly tranquil refuge where the scent of pine masks an undercurrent of vigilance. Together, they navigate a tense dance of trust, danger, and hope, each step hinting at deeper mysteries waiting just beyond the next horizon.
