Saranya Ponvannan as Muthulakshmi learns that her husband is having an affair, and Muniyandi tells her to “adjust.” She ultimately burns herself to death, a tragedy witnessed by her young son Viruman. Enraged, Viruman grabs an aruval and rushes after his father into the courthouse. When the court advises him not to kill Muniyandi, Viruman declares that he does not want to live with him and asks that his uncles, Rajkiran as Niraipandiyan Thevar and Karunas as Balu, raise him.
