During one encounter, she reconnects with her old pimp, Saloon Singaram, who tasks her with bringing in a virgin, a prepubescent girl, for a powerful client named Periayyah, a wealthy liquor baron. Rekha initially refuses, then agrees after Singaram promises to split the profits with her. He escorts Rekha to see Doraisingam, her former lover who is now bedridden and furious that she walked away from him. Despite his anger, Rekha persuades him to help, on the condition that the young girl is returned the very next day. After they locate the girl, Nandhini, Rekha accompanies Singaram as they prepare her for the night ahead. Rekha’s attempt to connect with the frightened girl is evident, but Nandhini stays withdrawn, wary of the intentions surrounding her. Rekha cannot fully shield her from what awaits, and she bears the weight of responsibility for what happens next.

The plan proceeds, and Rekha enters Periayyah’s mansion with Singaram, where the girl is restrained and subjected to peril. When Periayyah lifts a razor blade, Rekha intervenes, a struggle ensues, and Periayyah is killed. Rekha and Nandhini manage to escape, fleeing into the night. Singaram, meanwhile, is pressed by Chinniah’s henchmen to locate the girl within a day. He turns to Lankesh, a sharp-eyed, rogue detective, who agrees to help for a price. While investigating Rekha’s apartment, Lankesh discovers a photo of a friend taken in Srirangam, leading him to believe the two women are headed there.

As the pursuit narrows, Doraisingam’s men spot Rekha and the girl on a train and attempt to kidnap them, but their plans fail. Rekha and Nandhini slip away to Srirangam, where they reconnect with Rekha’s old friend Devanayagi, Devanayagi. In parallel, Lankesh and Singaram close in on Devanayagi’s house, aiming to extract Rekha and the girl. They manage to extract them and bring them to safety, while Chinniah arrives with his band to exact revenge, ordering the killing of Singaram and Lankesh. He also offers Rekha money to live out her life, a gesture born from a deeply traumatic memory: when Chinniah was in school, his father raped and killed a classmate, an event that fuels his resolve to hunt down the person who harmed his family’s name.
