Dhanalakshmi, commonly known as Dhana, is the sole heir of a wealthy landlord with assets exceeding ₹50 crore. Having lost her mother at a young age, she was raised by her father, who later remarried. Unfortunately, Dhana faces neglect and emotional distance from her stepmother, and after her father’s death, she finds herself quite isolated. Her only caring friend during her childhood was Balaji, who eventually leaves her after she completes her schooling. As she matures, Dhana inherits her father’s property, which prompts her mother to want to marry her against her wishes. Dhana, in an attempt to escape her troubled household, flees and finds refuge at her friend’s house in Hyderabad.

Meanwhile, Aravind is the son of a garage owner and is portrayed as a carefree, somewhat aimless individual—a vagabond. Their paths cross, and Dhana quickly captures his heart. However, their budding connection faces obstacles. When her stepmother tries to forcibly take her away, Aravind intervenes, aided by the police, helping her escape her abductor. This act deepens their bond, and Dhana confesses that her childhood friendship with Balaji is still her true love, and she cannot envision anyone else in that role. Despite her feelings, she turns away from Aravind.

Feeling the weight of her circumstances, Aravind decides to seek employment in Kolkata. Around this time, Dhana learns that Balaji is also in Kolkata. In a twist of fate, they meet again on a train, but Dhana misses her ride during the journey. Aravind, ever willing to help, assists her in reaching Kolkata to meet Balaji. During this trip, Aravind gets severely injured after getting entangled with a criminal attempting to frame Dhana in a narcotics case. Ultimately, Aravind takes Dhana to Balaji’s residence in Kolkata.

Things escalate when Dhana’s stepmother arrives in Kolkata and falsely claims that she is ready to approve Dhana’s marriage to Balaji. However, Dhana soon discovers that her stepmother has staged a lie with a fake Balaji to manipulate her. This deception leaves her feeling betrayed. At this critical moment, Aravind steps in once again, rescuing her and revealing her true feelings—Dhana realizes she is in love with Aravind. The story culminates when Dhana, overwhelmed by the revelation of Balaji’s true identity and the falsehood, faints. Aravind quickly manages the situation and, with tact and care, leaves the scene with her, ensuring her safety and happiness.

This film explores themes of love, betrayal, and destiny, ultimately emphasizing that sometimes, what the heart desires is found in unexpected places, especially through acts of bravery and genuine emotion.
