She eventually makes her way toward the station, carrying the weight of what she’s leaving behind.

During one of the train breaks, Gautham steps out for a quick drink and happens to cross paths with Aaranya. The moment rekindles long-buried feelings: the two are ex-lovers who split because their families disapproved, and Aaranya once stood by as their union faltered when her parents arranged a match with Prakash. They discover they are both on the same Bangalore-bound business trip, and in a rush of honesty, they admit they are married to other people; Gautham reveals he has a daughter. Aaranya compounds the deception by insisting she is in a happy marriage with Prakash, a claim that is quickly proven hollow.

As the trip unfolds, the old flame intensifies into something more intimate. Aaranya confesses that her supposed happy-marriage story is a lie and reveals that Prakash is abusive. Gautham promises emotional support, a quiet beacon in the storm of their tangled lives. Back home, Vandhana’s demanding work schedule strains their marriage, leaving little room for warmth or conversation, a gap that complicates Gautham’s sense of duty and desire.

Aaranya’s own life unravels further as Prakash’s abuse escalates, especially after a sharp jibe from his boss who hints that Aaranya is sharper than him. She asks for a divorce despite her parents’ pleas, and she confides in Gautham about the trouble at home. He is relieved to hear she’s taking steps to move on, yet her attempt to get closer to him grows increasingly aggressive. To be near him, Aaranya moves into a flat next to Gautham and starts weaving herself into his family’s routine, a move that makes him wary and forces him to distance himself.

Meanwhile, Vandhana’s relationship with Gautham appears to improve, and she discovers she is pregnant with their second child. Aaranya’s fixation on Gautham deepens, marked by late-night calls and emotional manipulation. One night, Gautham fabricates a story about leaving the house to appease his wife, but Vandhana senses the lie and grows suspicious. She uncovers that Gautham and Aaranya had dated in college, a revelation that fuels further mistrust. To complicate matters, Arun, a friend of Gautham, urges him to tell the truth, though Gautham hesitates, wary of what a confession could unleash.

Amidst the mounting tension, Aaranya quietly lends a helping hand to Gautham’s daughter, advising her not to bully others, which leads Aarthi to remark on becoming a big sister. This moment tugs at Aaranya’s conscience and strains her resolve. Vandhana, in a bid to protect her marriage, purchases another SIM card to text her husband under a different identity, an act that only deepens the suspicion surrounding Gautham’s loyalty.

In a tense confrontation, Aaranya questions whether Gautham ever truly loved her; his harsh reply—suggesting she deserves a husband like Prakash—crushes what little hope remains. Desperate and overwhelmed, Aaranya attempts self-harm, only to be stopped by Gautham, who consoles her while Vandhana witnesses the scene. He then tries to explain the past to Aaranya, but she refuses to listen and retreats to her mother’s place.

Gautham’s attempts at reconciliation include wanting to see Aarthi, but Vandhana refuses to forgive and asks him to consider her feelings. When Aarthi goes missing, Vandhana urges Gautham to find her, and he eventually reveals that Aaranya is not responsible for the disappearance. Aaranya learns of this after the fact and rushes to find Aarthi herself. The young girl’s wish—to see her parents back together—puts additional guilt on Aaranya, who recognizes the harm she’s caused.

Ultimately, Aaranya decides to leave, moving to a new city to apologize to Gautham for wrecking his marriage. He acknowledges that he did love her, even if it could not last. As she steps toward departure, he asks her not to be hugged or stopped, and she leaves in tears, a stark closing note on a story built from longing, misjudgment, and the fragile ties that bind families together.
