A wealthy couple, Kate Abernel Monica Tidwell and Alexei Abernel Bob Byrd, invites him to a graveyard rendezvous that quickly becomes a life-changing proposition: smuggle diamonds in Kenya. Seizing the chance, he travels to Africa, only to wind up imprisoned. The Abernels bail him out, and together they bribe a tribal leader to reveal the hidden locations of the jewels deep in the jungle. The trio discovers the treasure, but tragedy strikes when the husband is bitten by a cobra and dies. Craig acts decisively, killing the snake and walking away with the jewels in hand.

A further twist comes when a man from the couple offers Craig a boat in exchange for a woman, and he accepts the deal. The sea calls next, and he spends weeks at sea before arriving in Tahiti, where he tries to hawk the jewels at a bar and even gets involved in a pearl-diving scheme.
