The Man from Kathmandu follows Faisal Mustafa [Jose Manuel], an American‑Nepali man raised in Los Angeles with a blended Hindu–Muslim background. He travels to Kathmandu convinced that his father has joined the war in Syria, seeking clarity, belonging, and a sense of purpose that bridges two worlds. In the bustling streets and quiet corners of the city, he discovers that the truth about family, faith, and loyalty is more tangled than he expected.

Tragedy strikes when Faisal’s grandfather is murdered by Abu Mia Siddiqi [Gulshan Grover], a feared local crime lord who wields influence over both the underworld and the political landscape. The killing shatters Faisal’s assumptions and pulls him into a dangerous web of power, revenge, and unfinished vows. The act also rattles the delicate balance of his own identity, forcing him to confront how his mixed heritage has shaped his place in a country that wears its history on every corner.

Seeking guidance and a sense of connection, Faisal reunites with Namrata Manshree [Anna Sharma], a childhood friend who now works at a refugee rehabilitation centre run by his grandfather.
