The Cape Town Affair 1967

Set in 1967, at the peak of the Cold War, the story unfolds on a Cape Town bus where Candy Jacqueline Bisset grows suspicious that she is being tracked by government agents who believe she is a courier for Communist operatives. The tension spikes when a smooth, quick-witted pickpocket named Skip McCoy James Brolin slips Candy’s wallet from her purse at a crowded stop, using the distraction to vanish into the city’s maze of streets. The wallet’s contents—a covert envelope with state secrets on microfilm—soon fall into McCoy’s hands, and Candy’s handlers demand its return, threatening dire consequences if the information isn’t recovered.
