Damien's theft and a rooftop crisis

Damien steals Tom's work and threatens to expose Max's survival to the authorities, pressing Tom to give up. Feeling hopeless, Tom contemplates suicide on the roof of his building, but Max appears and urges him to channel his pain into music instead.

Battle of the bands: the moment of truth

Tom enters the local battle of the bands and struggles with stage fright at first. With Felix's support, he finds his courage and Max unexpectedly reappears on stage to perform the duet with him; the crowd roars and the performance goes viral.

Crowdfunding and arrest

The viral video leads to crowdfunding of around £500,000, giving Tom wider recognition. Police arrive soon after and arrest Max for tax fraud; he accepts the sentence and asks Tom to keep going.
