Sangram “Simmba” Bhalerao, portrayed by Ranveer Singh, grows up as an orphan in Shivgad where he watches corrupt cops skim money through bribes. This early exposure shapes a brash, self-serving view of justice that leads him to pursue a police career and, for a time, to enjoy the perks that come with being a lawman who bends the rules. He revels in the power, the quick money, and the swagger that comes with wearing the badge, taking full advantage of a system that often rewards the crooked more than it punishes them.

His career soon takes him to Miramar, Goa, where the Home Minister [Uday Tikekar] arrives with orders that set a new path for him. In Miramar, Simmba meets Shagun Sathe (played by Sara Ali Khan) and is instantly drawn to her, a relationship that adds a fragile humanity to his hardened exterior. In this new coastal city, he encounters Nityanand Mohile, an honest constable portrayed by Ashutosh Rana, who refuses to salute the corrupt Simmba and seeds a quiet tension between them about what it means to serve the law.

The plot thickens as Simmba collides with the powerful gangster Durva Yashwant Ranade, who runs a lavish pub with his brothers and uses the chaos of the club to traffic drugs. Durva’s criminal empire tests Simmba’s loyalties, and the cop’s appetite for easy money leads him to a shocking act: he helps Durva seize land from an old man named Vaman Rao, coercing him into signing away his property. Amid the turmoil, Simmba forms bonds with several women, showing a tender, almost protective side to a man who typically lives by a rough, unyielding code. One young woman, Aakruti Dave, becomes a touchstone for Simmba as she reminds him of his former teacher, sparking a complicated mixture of affection and professional conflict.

Aakruti takes a stand against the drug racket tied to the club, filing a complaint against Sada and Giri and documenting their illicit activities. She records damning evidence with a cellphone, intending to bring the crimes to the police. The situation spirals when Sada and Giri confront her; a brutal assault leaves Aakruti gravely injured, and she dies in the hospital, leaving Simmba devastated and vowing to set things right. The recovered footage from Aakruti’s phone lands in the hands of Durva’s men, who threaten Simmba and attempt to erase the truth. In a moment of reckoning, Simmba fights off the goons who threaten him, begins to change his ways, and decides to embrace the duties of a genuine police officer.

The reform culminates when Simmba, now wearing the police uniform with new resolve, helps bring Durva’s operations to light. Nityanand Mohile, recognizing the transformation, salutes him as the case against Sada and Giri proceeds in court, and justice appears within reach as land is returned to Vaman Rao. Yet the courtroom drama takes a vengeful turn when Aakruti’s video is deleted from the evidence, and a false statement from a corrupt ally—Durva’s associates—threatens to derail the truth. Simmba, driven by a desire to honor Aakruti and to prove the system can stand up to itself, confronts the corruption, beating back the dishonest force and challenging the flawed process in a bid to expose the real criminals.

In the heat of the legal battle, Simmba contemplates a drastic, self-defensive response against Sada and Giri, ultimately carrying out what appears to be an encounter. The state forms an SIT to probe the conflicting narratives surrounding his actions, while Home Minister Vinayak and others seek clarity about the case. Bajirao Singham, the legendary neutral officer who transcends one film universe, arrives to back Simmba, lending credibility to the claims of self-defense and exposing Durva’s broader criminal network. Singham’s testimony corroborates that Sada and Giri assaulted Aakruti and that the brothers were involved in drug trafficking and other illegal activities, leading to Durva’s seven-year sentence.

The film closes on a note of hard-won accountability: Singham explains that his intervention was necessary to instill respect for the law, especially in a society that often treats women poorly. The unlikely alliance between two virtuous officers underscores a shared philosophy—that courage and integrity can reform even a deeply flawed system. In a post-credits moment, Simmba speaks with DCP Veer Sooryavanshi, praising him on his new role as ATS chief, a nod to the expanding, interconnected police universe and a promise of future convergence between these iconic guardians of the law. Akshay Kumar shines in the unseen thread that ties the film into a larger cinematic world, hinting at more vigilance, more justice, and more stories to come.
