In bustling Hong Kong, Tala Tatjana Saphira grows up under the care of her mother Dewi Irawan and her uncle Toni Edward Akbar. With limited options, Tala and her drunken, gambling-addicted uncle work together as pickpockets on crowded streets, scrapping by in a city that never sleeps.

One day they lift the wallet of Musa [Ahmad Al Ghazali], the only son of powerful businessman Surya Djatmoko [Ray Sahetapy]. Musa’s wallet holds his passport and a hotel key—pieces that could unlock big trouble and bigger opportunities. Impressed by Musa, Tala decides to enter his hotel room to learn more, hoping to recover his passport as payment for her intrusion. She is caught, and barely escapes; the incident, though, awakens a surprising curiosity about the enigmatic thief.

Musa tracks Tala down and, under pressure to avoid police attention, forces her to accompany him on outings.
