In bustling Hong Kong, Tala Tatjana Saphira grows up under the care of her mother Dewi Irawan and her uncle Toni Edward Akbar. Her mother is gravely ill and needs surgery, a burden they cannot shoulder, and returning to Indonesia seems impossible. With limited options, Tala and her drunken, gambling-addicted uncle work together as pickpockets on crowded streets, scrapping by in a city that never sleeps.
One day they lift the wallet of Musa [Ahmad Al Ghazali], the only son of powerful businessman Surya Djatmoko [Ray Sahetapy]. Musa’s wallet holds his passport and a hotel key—pieces that could unlock big trouble and bigger opportunities. Impressed by Musa, Tala decides to enter his hotel room to learn more, hoping to recover his passport as payment for her intrusion. She is caught, and barely escapes; the incident, though, awakens a surprising curiosity about the enigmatic thief.
Musa tracks Tala down and, under pressure to avoid police attention, forces her to accompany him on outings. For the first time, Tala finds herself drawn to the man behind the danger, a lure that could be more than a temporary distraction from her precarious life. As their bond deepens, she also discovers Musa’s own reasons for staying in Hong Kong: a longing to escape his own resentments and the anger he bears toward his father, an anger that Tala’s presence seems to soothe.
Yet the future of their relationship looks fragile. They come from starkly different worlds, and disapproving parents loom over their romance. Tala tries to push Musa away, telling herself their love cannot endure, but flight seems impossible when they already rely on each other for survival. In the shadows, Toni hatches a more ruthless plan: to exploit Musa to erase his dangerous mafia debts, threatening to tear apart the fragile bond between Tala and Musa.
As deceit, loyalty, and longing collide, the lovers must decide if their connection can weather the pressures of crime, family expectations, and the perilous pull of a life they never anticipated.
