Michael Karthikeyan, Vijay Sethupathi, is a pizza delivery boy who shares a small life with his girlfriend, Anu, an aspiring novelist researching material for a horror story. Michael does not believe in the supernatural, yet he is quietly afraid of anything paranormal. Anu, however, insists that the unseen world will reveal itself to him soon. As the couple navigates their everyday routines, Anu’s insistence plants a seed of curiosity in Michael, even as he clings to his skepticism.

Their ordinary days take a dark turn when a spirit appears to possess the daughter of Shanmugam, the pizza shop’s owner, introducing a chilling undercurrent to the otherwise routine job. Anu’s pregnancy adds complexity to their bond, and after a brief clash, the two decide to marry in secret, hoping to anchor their future amid growing fear and uncertainty. Michael’s disbelief faces a real test when a routine pizza delivery escalates into a life-or-death puzzle that binds him to the bungalow of a mysterious woman named Smitha.

One day, Michael returns to the pizzeria drenched in blood and muttering Anu’s name, claiming he had delivered a pizza to a customer named Smitha at a bungalow. Smitha requests that he wait downstairs while she fetches money, and as the power fails and darkness fills the house, an eerie noise from upstairs signals danger. When Michael climbs to investigate, he discovers Smitha dead and notices a missing slice of pizza, hinting that someone else is in the house. The scene intensifies when Smitha’s husband, Bobby, arrives and, through Michael’s account, becomes drawn into the tense situation. Bobby’s sudden disappearance from the front entrance leads to a grim discovery: he is found murdered in the same room as Smitha, with two pizza slices missing. The couple’s child, a girl named Nithya, appears in the environment in a way that echoes the spirit’s influence, adding to the growing sense of dread.

Desperation drives Michael to escape, breaking through sealed doors and desperately using the house phone, which somehow works despite a dead line. He manages to contact Anu, who contacts the local police. When two officers arrive, Michael expects their help, but they reveal a far darker truth: four people have died in that house—Smith a, Bobby, their young daughter, and a girl named Anu, implying that Michael’s girlfriend Anu may be dead as well. The police declare Michael a suspect, and he struggles to convince them of his innocence while fleeing to uncover the truth himself.

As events unfold inside the pizzeria and the haunted bungalow, those around Michael begin to realize that they have never actually seen Anu, and evidence of Michael’s life with her is conspicuously absent at his home. The haunted bungalow bears witness to a chain of untimely deaths, including Smitha, Bobby, their daughter, and the mysterious Anu. The police insinuate that Anu might be dead, seeding doubt and fear in Michael’s already fragile mind. The terrifying possibility that he could be losing his grip on reality weighs heavily as he tries to piece together what is real from what is imagined.

Then the truth behind the night’s events emerges, reframing the entire ordeal. The Income Tax raid on Shanmugam’s restaurant uncovers a stash of diamonds worth around twenty million tucked away in a candy box. Michael, after a fateful bike accident, comes into contact with these hidden diamonds and, along with Anu, hatches a plan to steal them to secure a better future for their baby. They craft a clever ruse: Michael pretends to forget a pizza bag at the haunted bungalow—an act that Shanmugam, with his fear of the supernatural, would never willingly enter—while Anu secretly departs for Kochi via Bangalore, using fake documents to settle abroad with the diamonds and their belongings.

Following a phone call that hints at a hopeful future, Michael returns to the delivery routine only to encounter a sequence of events mirroring the story he narrated. Inside another house, he meets a girl who resembles Nithya, the child from his tale, and finds himself trapped once again in a room where the lights suddenly go out. The line between fiction and reality seems to blur as the haunting continues, tests his belief in the supernatural, and pushes him toward a fate shaped by a web of deception, love, and a dangerous plan to escape a life they barely understand. The story closes on a tense note, with darkness sealing the moment and leaving Michael to confront what lies ahead.
