Oliwia, a talented chef portrayed by Anna Szymanczyk, was thriving in her career in Wroclaw. Known for her exquisite culinary creations, she was the backbone of her boss’s cafe for the past five years. However, her life takes an unexpected turn when she receives tragic news from her village in Podlaskie province: her grandmother has passed away. Upon requesting leave from work, Oliwia rushes back to her hometown, realizing she is the only relative left to mourn.

The backstory reveals a turbulent relationship between Oliwia’s grandmother, Halina, played by Anna Seniuk, and her mother, leading to a strained connection between Oliwia and her grandmother. Throughout her childhood, she rarely spent time with Halina due to her mother’s resentment, which fostered Oliwia’s own hot temper and impatience.

To her astonishment, Oliwia discovers her grandmother is alive and orchestrated the whole ordeal to lure her back to the village. Initially furious, she quickly understands Halina’s longing for companionship. Complicating matters, Oliwia’s car breakdown appears orchestrated by the villagers, who encourage her to stay. Halina insists that her mother is the one who turned Oliwia against her, which adds another layer of tension to their relationship.

The plot thickens when Halina unexpectedly goes missing just before Oliwia plans to leave, leaving behind a note that grants her granddaughter the responsibility of the farm, which includes a horse named Dumpling, purchased for Oliwia during her childhood. Feeling overwhelmed and inexperienced with farm life, Oliwia meets a man named Wojtek, played by Mateusz Janicki, who claims to be the caretaker and offers to help her. Little does she know that the entire village is conspiring to keep her there alongside Halina.

Oliwia reconnects with her childhood friend, Matylda Wasyl, portrayed by Angelika Cegielska-Swiatek, who works with the local police. Matylda reveals that Halina is in hiding and using her home to monitor Oliwia’s situation. As Oliwia begins to embrace farm life, riding Dumpling and nursing a sick baby goat back to health, she also becomes entwined with the colorful community, which includes two brothers brewing moonshine. Recognizing their potential, Oliwia suggests they merge their flavors for a superior product.

In an unexpected twist, the man Oliwia thought was Wojtek is actually named Kuba Wolak, played by Mateusz Janicki, who has lingering debts his family holds against Halina. He had sabotaged her cheese business and tried to undermine her with the health department, which brings some of the village’s secrets to the surface. As their relationship grows, Oliwia realizes that their bond extends beyond personal feelings—they are also effective partners in the entrepreneurial world.

Culminating in a fateful moment when influential investors visit, Oliwia’s culinary skills shine through as she prepares a delightful meal, impressing everyone and ensuring investment in Kuba’s new venture. As Halina returns from hiding, she learns who informed the health department of her cheese production, accepting the budding romance between Oliwia and Kuba in the hopes that it leads to a long-term arrangement.

Ultimately, Oliwia realizes her aspirations are back in the city, leading her to choose her career, albeit reluctantly, with tears as she drives away from the village. Yet, as she settles back into city life, she feels an emptiness without the warmth of her family and the charm of village life. The longing for connection drives her back to her roots, and her unexpected return brings joy not only to herself but also to Kuba, with whom she shares a deeper bond than she initially imagined.
