On a stormy night at sea, Antonio, Jorge Lillo desperately seeks help for his wife Consuelo as she goes into labor aboard a small fishing boat. He passes a locket to her, a precious keepsake, and their child is born just as a spark of hope arrives, sealing a father’s vow to protect his newborn son.

Many years pass, and Nahuel, Consuelo Pizarro as Nahuel, is twelve and still haunted by a fear of the sea. He makes a shaky attempt to reach a tiny boat, but the plan goes wrong when Calfunao and Rorro—two bullies—grab him and drag him toward the water, and he’s dropped from the little ship as he runs. By the time he makes it to the port to see his father, Antonio has handed over coins to buy eggs in the market from Don Simon, though the chase through the stalls leads to a spill as the boy escapes behind a parked truck. A small black cat then appears, swipes the keys he dropped, and leads him to an abandoned house where he discovers Levisterio, a dangerous magical book long guarded by wizards. An old wizard appears, but the cat’s intrusion buys Nahuel a chance to slip away, while unseen watchers circle. The crows, led by Raiquén, Vanesa Silva as Raiquén, fly toward the abandoned island to alert Kalku, a malevolent crow wizard Marcelo Liapiz as Kalku, that the book has been found and could spell disaster for the world.

Back with his father, the tension between duty and danger surfaces when Antonio worries about Nahuel’s future and a possible send-off to Puerto Montt. Nahuel uses Levisterio to conjure a spell that makes a tiny moth grow to a colossal size, its wings beating a path to the window as the book proves to be real. The next day, Antonio heads to work and the two share a fragile moment of connection, just as the sea stirs again. Kalku responds with a storm, and Raiquén’s dark-eyed crows move in to seize the book, unleashing a towering wave that smashes the fishing ship and separates father and son across the sea.

Nahuel is rescued from the chaos by Huenchur and Fresia. Huenchur’s presence offers a glimmer of hope as she explains the book’s true power and that Kalku is behind the threat. Raiquén returns to rally the crow legions, while Huenchur urges Fresia to guide Nahuel toward his father’s location so they can mount a rescue. As night falls, the two women fight off the approaching hunters, giving Nahuel and Fresia a chance to rest. A shared moment of communication follows: Nahuel speaks with Fresia using two stones, and the ancient Nivulu rises to test them. A Ruende, Sebastian Dupont as Ruende, a giant wolf, lunges to strike the Nivulu, forcing the creature back. With courage steadier than fear, Nahuel, Fresia, and their ally set out toward Kalku’s lair to rescue Antonio, determined to conquer Nahuel’s deepest fears along the way.

In a modest coastal fishing town where the sea is both a livelihood and an ever‑present whisper, daily life hums with the rhythm of tides, gulls, and weathered wooden docks. The town’s close‑knit community moves beneath a sky that can turn from serene blue to storm‑laden in moments, giving the setting a palpable mix of warmth and looming mystery. This breezy yet sometimes menacing backdrop frames a story that feels part coming‑of‑age tale and part quiet fantasy, inviting the audience to feel the salt on the skin and the unease that follows.

At the heart of this world lives a twelve‑year‑old boy named Nahuel, whose relationship with the ocean is fraught with a deep, almost visceral fear. Raised by his father, Antonio, a seasoned fisherman who carries the town’s traditions in his calloused hands, Nahuel watches the sea’s power from a distance, longing to step beyond the safety of the shore yet haunted by the unknown that lies beneath. Their bond is tender and layered, offering both a source of comfort and an unspoken pressure for the young boy to confront the water that both sustains and scares him.

One quiet afternoon, while wandering through an abandoned house on the edge of town, Nahuel stumbles upon a strange, leather‑bound volume that seems to pulse with its own quiet energy. The book, hinted to be ancient and magical, promises the possibility of overcoming inner barriers, and its presence quickly becomes a beacon for the curious and the courageous. Yet the very existence of such an artefact does not go unnoticed; whispers speak of a dangerous sorcerer whose interest in the tome could have far‑reaching consequences, and the fragile balance of Nahuel’s world begins to shift.

With the promise of the mysterious volume igniting both hope and apprehension, Nahuel finds himself at the threshold of an unexpected journey—one that will test the limits of his courage, the strength of his family ties, and his willingness to face the sea he has long avoided. The film’s tone balances the wistful nostalgia of a small seaside community with an undercurrent of magical intrigue, inviting viewers to wonder what lies beyond the familiar horizon and how far a young heart will go when called upon to confront both external threats and internal doubts.
