Kuberan, Yogi Babu a small-time crook, needs money to escape from the police. Kumaravel, Prasanna an honest police officer in the IB, grapples with funds as his wife Sangeetha, Shruti Marathe suffers from thyroid cancer, and the money to save her feels out of reach. Karthik, Ashwin Kakumanu a poor carpenter who dreams of a future with Meera, Rittika Sen, also needs money to marry her.

During the 2016 demonetisation exercise, Kumaravel hatches a plan, using Kuberan, to run fake IT raids on the holders of old currency notes; the scheme initially succeeds. Kumaravel then asks Kuberan to stop the raids, but the urgency escalates when Sangeetha’s treatment costs rise. They agree to one last raid, and Kuberan enters a house, walks away with crores in old currency, and stumbles upon Karthik in the house owner’s bedroom. At Karthik’s request, Kuberan agrees not to disclose the encounter. Karthik, realizing the raid was fake, pushes for a share in the money, leveraging the situation.

The money, however, belongs to a corrupt police officer, ACP Ravichandran, Shaam. He learns that the raid was staged and begins to investigate. He plans to strike at the house of notorious corporate figure Govindan, but that plan falters. Karthik decides to leave the group for the sake of his unborn child.
