Another comrade sends Chacko to deliver a message, and while he is away the estate owner seals the estate to exact punishment on the workers and union members. When he returns, the owner taunts him, suggesting that he had plotted with the senior comrade for this maneuver.

Angered, Chacko gathers a few workers, including Rengasamy, to confront the estate owner with weapons. The mob tracks down the estate owner and the senior comrade, kills both, and is jailed for several years. On returning home, Rengasamy discovers that a fertilizer vendor has foreclosed on his land due to outstanding debts.
