In Kombai, a corrupt politician named Sukumar entices Arulmozhi Sachin Khedekar to become the panchayat leader. She accepts, marries, and takes on the role, but her steadfast honesty and strict adherence to the law fuel Sukumar’s rage. To remove her from the equation, he hires a group of hitmen who attack Arulmozhi’s life in a brutal ambush: they murder her husband, douse the pregnant Arulmozhi in petrol, and set her alight. The plan seems to finish her, but she plunges into a river and survives, albeit severely burned, giving birth to a baby boy who miraculously saves her life. Sukumar learns of her survival and the birth of a son, but the threat behind the tragedy lingers.

Years later, Arulmozhi’s son Vijayaraghavan Vijay Antony grows into a compassionate, hands‑on teacher in Kombai. His mother sends him to Chennai to complete the IAS and urges him to broaden his experience so that her long‑held dream—through him—can become a reality. Vijayaraghavan ends up in the Chennai slums, where a harsh shove from a gangster named Sullu at an MBA college lands him headfirst into a new resolve: he will reform the lives of the slum children who surround him. He pushes himself to pass the IAS prelims, then uses that momentum to rally the parents to enroll their children in tuition, balancing rigorous study with the needs of his students. In doing so, he becomes the area’s most trusted and popular tuition master, earning respect one student at a time.

Vedhavathi, a classmate of Vijayaraghavan, is drawn to him after hearing the tale of his mother’s tragedy and gradually falls in love. The path to making a difference in the slum brings Vijayaraghavan into contact with Gunasekaran, a corrupt councillor, whom he confronts about the false police cases against the children. This challenge triggers a brutal response from Sullu and his gang, who beat Vijayaraghavan as a warning. Yet the teacher in him endures, reminding his students that obstacles will come, but they should stay focused on their goals. With Vedhavathi’s encouragement, Vijayaraghavan clears his IAS exam, planning to travel to Delhi for the interview.

A volatile turn follows when Vijayaraghavan loses his temper and fights back against Sullu and Karuna’s men. The next day, Gunasekaran’s men kidnap him; Karuna’s goons brutalize him and cast him into a canal, a brutal testament to the high stakes surrounding his rise. Despite these trials, Vijayaraghavan’s students pass their exams, and the community begins to rally in support of him. In the ward elections, he runs as an independent candidate, drawing the ire of the District Secretary Pedha Perumal. Vijayaraghavan’s message of change resonates, and he wins, much to the annoyance of Gunasekaran and Sullu. Pedha Perumal’s alliance with the old guard begins to fracture as Vijayaraghavan’s work—renovating homes, laying roads and pavements, and providing jobs—transforms the slum. The Governor even commends these changes in a public post on his Twitter page, a rare nod from the highest office.

As Gunasekaran complains to Pedha Perumal and Sullu laments the loss of control, Pedha Perumal lashes out, insulting both Sullu and Gunasekaran. The Governor visits the ward to tempt Vijayaraghavan with a place in the opposition, while Pedha Perumal himself makes the rounds, attempting to pull him into party politics. Vijayaraghavan remains steadfast and declines, which angers the political machines behind Sukumar’s long shadow. Frustrated, Sukumar storms into Arulmozhi’s home, breaking her hand and recording a resignation video as proof of his control.

Hearing the dreadful news of his mother’s injury rekindles Vijayaraghavan’s resolve, and he confronts Karuna and his henchmen in a fierce act of retribution. Gunasekaran realizes the political ground has shifted beneath him as people rally behind Vijayaraghavan, and Pedha Perumal’s temper pulses anew against Karuna. The momentum carries Vijayaraghavan forward as he files to run for MLA. The opposition party, led by CM Rajamanickam, presses him to join their fold, but Vijayaraghavan makes a bold demand: the post of Chief Minister. The battle lines are drawn, and Sukumar’s era of cruelty edges toward its end as Vijayaraghavan’s revenge culminates in a police arrest.

In the fallout, Rajamanickam delivers a stark warning to Pedha Perumal: Vijayaraghavan should not be granted unchecked power as CM. He must face the inevitable challenges that come with leadership, and the story lays the groundwork for what comes next in the forthcoming sequel.
