In 2007, Sameer Chaudhary, Vidyut Jammwal, a software engineer, falls in love with Nargis through an arranged alliance, and the two marry. The following year brings the 2008 financial crisis, leaving both of them unemployed and adjusting to a sudden change in their plans. A few months later, they receive a glimmer of hope when a job opportunity in Noman, a fictional Middle East country, appears with the help of Nadeem, Vipin Sharma from an overseas recruitment firm. Nargis heads to Noman first, while Sameer stays back to await his own documents, clinging to the hope of reuniting soon.

Soon after her arrival, Nargis calls in a panic, reporting that she is being kidnapped. Determined to reach her, Sameer travels to Noman and enlists the help of Usman Hamid Ali Murad, a taxi driver played by Annu Kapoor. When Sameer asks Usman to take him to the address provided by Nadeem, he discovers there is no such place. Usman then drives him to a police station, where he learns that Nadeem has vanished and the trail goes cold. Frustrated with police inaction, Sameer embeds himself with the Indian embassy, posing as a telecom employee to obtain the address of the person whose phone Nargis used to contact him. That number leads him to Shirazi, who is entangled in human trafficking.

Together with Usman, Sameer visits brothels in search of Nargis, and they eventually locate her. The reunion turns violent when the traffickers attack Sameer; he fights back, killing the men, and a tense car chase follows, ending with his arrest at the Indian Embassy’s perimeter. The story moves forward as Sameer recounts the incident to the authorities, and he is soon approached by Faiz Abu Malik, Shiv Panditt, a Nomani cop, who agrees to help with the involvement of Tamena joining the case. Their investigation includes reviewing CCTV footage from the Noman airport, which reveals Nargis entering a van with Itzak, a notorious Algerian modeling coordinator.

Itzak, Nawab Shah, orders Nargis killed, and the search intensifies when a burnt corpse is found and presumed to be Nargis. Sameer is shattered when he sees her pendant; the funeral later marks a painful moment of closure for what seems like a permanent separation. Tamena, however, learns that Nargis is alive and that the corpse was someone else. She and Faiz chase fresh leads to locate Sameer, only to find that Sameer never boarded the planned flight.

Determined to avenge what has happened, Sameer confronts Itzak at his home, where Itzak reveals that Nargis is indeed alive. Faiz and Tamena arrive, and in the ensuing struggle, Tamena attempts to subdue Faiz to buy Sameer and Usman time to rescue Nargis, who is hidden inside a black truck trailer. A brutal confrontation ensues; Faiz kills Tamena and tries to frame Sameer for the crime, while a high-stakes truck chase results in Itzak’s death. Faiz then meets his crime partner and Itzak’s boss, a move that is covertly photographed by an undercover officer.

Sameer eventually makes it back to the Indian Embassy, but Faiz captures him with plans to kill him, declaring, “You’re Dead!” until a fellow guard intervenes. A betrayal by Commander Ghazi complicates the situation, leading to a brutal fistfight in which Sameer gains the upper hand. He finally exits the embassy after a guard frees Nargis and the other captive women from the truck’s back.

In the days that follow, Sameer attends Tamena’s state funeral, while Faiz faces execution by firing squad for his crimes and kidnapping. At the airport, Sameer and Nargis prepare to return to India and share a final moment with Usman, inviting him to join them on their journey, marking a painful but hopeful ending as they look toward a new beginning together.
