In the vibrant cityscape of San Francisco, a beleaguered U.S. Navy aviator, Lt. Tuck Pendleton, finds himself at a pivotal moment in his life. He resigns from his post to take part in a top-secret miniaturization experiment. However, things take an unexpected turn when Tuck, along with his submersible pod, is shrunk down to a microscopic size and sealed inside a syringe meant for a rabbit. Just as Tuck is about to embark on this extraordinary journey, a rival group led by the devious Dr. Margaret Canker crashes the lab, aiming to steal the groundbreaking technology.

In the ensuing chaos, the experiment supervisor, Ozzie Wexler, makes a desperate escape with the syringe but is pursued by the cunning henchman, Mr. Igoe. The thrilling chase leads them to a bustling shopping mall, and in a tragic turn of events, Ozzie is shot while trying to protect the experiment. In a last-ditch effort to save the mission, he injects Tuck into the unsuspecting Jack Putter, a clumsy grocery clerk caught in the crosshairs of his boss’s tyranny and the dismissive comments of his coworker, Wendy.

When Tuck comes to, he is initially baffled, thinking he has somehow been injected into a rabbit. After several frustrating attempts to gain help from the lab, he cleverly uses his pod’s technology to peer through Jack’s optic nerve, attempting to gauge their situation. Realizing he is indeed inside a human host, Tuck fashions an earpiece to communicate with Jack. He urgently describes their predicaments and appeals for help to get back to safety.

Back at the lab, it is revealed that the rival faction has stolen a crucial computer chip essential for the success of the miniaturization experiment. The mastermind behind this treachery is Victor Scrimshaw, surrounded by his loyal henchmen, including Dr. Canker, Mr. Igoe, and a figure known as The Cowboy. As Jack forges ahead amidst this web of deception, he teams up with Lydia Maxwell, a determined reporter who has insights into The Cowboy’s plans. Together, they devise a strategy to uncover The Cowboy’s aim to seize the stolen chip from Scrimshaw.

Their investigation leads them to a local nightclub and ultimately aids Jack in confronting The Cowboy. In a daring twist, Tuck utilizes the pod’s capabilities to alter Jack’s appearance, transforming him into a lookalike of The Cowboy. This clever deception allows them to gain access to Scrimshaw, but their nervousness jeopardizes the heist, leading to their capture by Igoe. Imprisoned, Jack and Lydia share a moving moment, unknowingly transferring Tuck into Lydia’s body through a kiss.

As chaos ensues, the criminals inject Igoe into Jack, intending to track down Tuck and claim the remaining chip. However, in a surprising turn of events, Jack and Lydia gain control over the miniaturization device, resulting in a comical mishap where they inadvertently shrink everyone present. Meanwhile, Tuck, now within Lydia, discovers she is pregnant, adding another layer to their adventure. He cleverly uses a familiar tune to communicate the news to Jack and Lydia, who again unknowingly transfer Tuck back to his original form.

In a race against time, Jack and Lydia drive back to the lab, unaware of the shrunken villains lurking in their midst. Tuck bravely confronts Igoe, leading to a climactic showdown that culminates in a whirlwind of action. Faced with dwindling oxygen, Jack ingeniously finds a way to free himself from the pod by inducing a sneeze, expanding the vessel and ultimately reuniting with Lydia.

The story culminates in a beautiful wedding ceremony at Wayfarers Chapel, where Tuck, adorned with the experiment’s microchips as cufflinks, symbolizes their extraordinary journey together. As they drive away, Jack, buoyed by his new confidence, resigns from his job and boldly declares his independence. However, unbeknownst to him, a thrilling twist awaits as The Cowboy, alongside Scrimshaw and Canker, hides just around the corner, setting the stage for yet another adventure.
