Helen Paul, Thalita Machado, is a B.Sc Nursing graduate who also pursues IELTS coaching with the aim of building a life abroad. She works part-time at a restaurant called The Chicken Hub, tucked inside a plush mall, and lives with her father, Paul, an insurance agent who leans toward conservative Christian values. Paul disapproves of his daughter’s plans to go abroad, and he has strong reservations about the friends she keeps, especially since Helen has a Muslim boyfriend named Azhar who is quietly looking for a job.

One night, as Azhar ferries Helen home after a shift, the couple is stopped by police. He is penalised for not wearing a helmet and for a charge related to drunken driving, and both of them are taken to the police station. Paul is summoned there as well, and the sight of his daughter unsettles him deeply; he remains distant, choosing not to engage in conversation despite Helen’s repeated attempts to reach out.

The following night, after another shift at The Chicken Hub, Helen’s manager Jayashankar unintentionally locks her inside a freezer room. The temperature tumbles to -18 °C, and Helen fights to survive, trying every possible means to stay warm. In the process, she ends up dislocating her leg while attempting to block the evaporator fan, and she begins to suffer frostbite with bleeding from her nose.

Back at home, Paul grows increasingly worried as Helen fails to return. He teams up with a neighbour to search, reaching out to her coworkers, who claim they have no information. Azhar, who was en route to Chennai, returns and joins the search in a hopeful but tense effort to locate Helen.

The family heads to the police station to file a missing-person report, where they encounter SI Ratheesh Kumar, who had bumped into them the day before. Ratheesh Kumar suspects Azhar, and a heated exchange with Paul ensues as the search party presses for cooperation. The sub-inspector’s reluctance to share crucial information—like the last tower location he obtained from the Cyber cell—frustrates the anxious family.

A potential lead emerges: Helen may have had trouble with auto drivers in front of the mall. They investigate, but the auto driver in question denies any wrongdoing. A mall watchman then provides a crucial twist: he notes that Helen may not have left the mall at all. This new information shifts the focus back to the Chicken Hub, and the family rushes to the restaurant to check the freezer again.

After a tense, painful wait of five hours, the group finally finds Helen inside the freezer, where she is rescued and transported to the hospital just before slipping into the most dangerous phase of hypothermia. The watchman’s testimony about Helen’s movements inside the mall proves to be a turning point for the family, who realize that she had continued to move within the mall rather than depart.

In the hospital, the doctors confirm that Helen is out of immediate danger, though she will require physiotherapy to recover fully. The ordeal underscores, in stark terms, how perilous cold weather can be for an ordinary person, yet it also reveals Helen’s resilience and determination to survive.

When the watchman finally asks Paul for his daughter’s name, Paul replies with quiet pride, “Helen.” The moment marks a poignant reunion as Helen’s father and her boyfriend, Azhar, stand by her side through the recovery process.
