Harpreet Happy Kaur is slated to marry Corporator Daman Singh Bagga in Amritsar, but she plans to elope with her musician boyfriend Guddu. A misstep lands her in a lorry bound for Lahore, accidentally locked inside a fruit basket that ends up at the home of Bilal Ahmed, the son of a former local governor. Meanwhile, in Amritsar, [Guddu] is taken hostage by Bagga.

After escaping Bilal’s house, Happy triggers a commotion at a busy market and is arrested by officer Usman Afridi. The officer informs Bilal, who decides to arrange for Happy’s deportation, while Happy refuses to return to Amritsar. She coerces Bilal with a fabricated tale about being abducted by Bilal and his father. Zoya Rehmani enters when she questions Bilal about an alleged affair with Happy and proposes a plan: bring [Guddu] to Lahore, have him marry Happy there, and deport them together. Bilal reluctantly agrees, but keeping Happy hidden from his father proves tricky, and he struggles to keep her in check. Meanwhile, Happy forms a close bond with both Bilal and Zoya.
