Ten years before the present day, young Dora, [played by Samantha Lorraine] and her brother Diego, [played by Jacob Rodriguez] had grand adventures inspired by the stories their grandfather used to tell them about Incan legends. He shared tales of Sol Dorado, a fallen star with magical powers capable of granting a wish to those who sought it selflessly. Dora was entrusted with a special Map, which she believed would guide her on epic journeys through the lush Amazon rainforest, where she loved to explore and discover new things. During one of their adventures, she rescued a curious monkey she named Boots, who would become her loyal companion.

Now, in the present day, Dora continues her quest to find Sol Dorado, driven by that childhood fascination. Despite Diego initially being hesitant, he eventually joins her for the final leg of the journey. Their adventure begins in a mysterious cave, where Dora deciphers a quipu — an ancient Incan device — pointing towards a hidden artifact that could unlock the secrets of Sol Dorado. However, things take a dangerous turn when the cave suddenly catches fire, triggering a booby trap. Diego quickly activates his Rescue Pack, an essential tool for their survival, to save Dora from the flames. During the chaos, Dora loses her cherished Map in the fire, which leaves her feeling devastated and vulnerable, believing she is nothing without it.

Amid her sadness, Dora is soon distracted by the arrival of Cambodia’s manager, Camila, [played by Daniella Pineda], whom Dora had admired from afar for years. Camila introduces her as a new guide at Jungle World, a quirky amusement park filled with jungle-themed rides. Dora reluctantly takes on the role, where her guides are filled with corny, scripted puns that try to amuse visitors, including Diego, who is now showcasing his cockatoo, Mango, during the rides. As the story unfolds, they learn that Camila is diligently searching for the Emperor’s Bracelet, a legendary artifact believed to be the key to finding Sol Dorado.

Initially, Diego dismisses the myth as just a legend, but Dora’s curiosity gets the better of her. She secretly sneaks into a forbidden area and unlocks a mysterious box using a relic — the artifact she found earlier. The bracelet inside attaches itself to her wrist and grants her a vivid vision of three entrances that lead toward Sol Dorado. Camila, noticing that Dora has taken the box, suspects her of theft and orders her armed guards to stop her from escaping. However, Dora’s bracelet proves to be a powerful tool, helping her evade capture. During their escape, Dora discovers that Diego is accompanied by Naiya, [played by Mariana Garzón Toro], who appears to be more than just a friend but also a driver during their journey. The chase results in a crash deep in the heart of the jungle, possibly leaving Camila behind, which complicates their mission even further.

Before continuing, Dora hands Diego his Rescue Pack and Naiya a medical kit, preparing them to proceed on their own. She then experiences a vision revealing the location of the first clue: El Gran Valle de la Muerte. They decipher the details and navigate through perilous walls before narrowly escaping the crushing traps. Their journey is aided by visions that guide them to the second location, the Macaws of Cinchona, based on clues from Dora’s visions and the quipu. Yet, as night falls, trouble arises: Swiper the Fox, a cunning bandit, steals Dora’s Backpack, making it harder for the group to track their trail. Swiper’s owner, Camila, uses this opportunity to pursue them.

Heartbroken over losing her Backpack, Dora considers abandoning the quest. Diego, meanwhile, shares that he has an upcoming internship that he’s willing to prioritize over their adventure. This revelation causes some tension, but together they decide to push forward. A series of puzzles, including a math challenge involving the quipu and a ladder of spikes, guide them toward the third location, the Temple of Light. During this phase, Naiya’s skills with sudoku help them solve critical problems, while Diego’s daring swings and quick thinking help unlock pathways. Meanwhile, Dora is overwhelmed with emotion, hesitant to lose Diego, but he reassures her with kindness and a shared vision of the future.

Their journey culminates at the Temple, where Dora’s insight about her true self as “the map” comes to light under the full moon. She reads the stars to find the final path and activates her Rescue Pack to confront Camila and her followers, who have caught up with them. Inside the temple, Dora and Camila decode the final quipu, working together to determine which weight will open the gateway leading to Sol Dorado. Camila sacrifices herself by pushing the last scale in order to unlock the gate, revealing the legendary city. As the bracelet glows fiercely, it opens the entrance, revealing the mythical land of Sol Dorado, rich with gold and ancient wonders.

Finally, Camila admits her motives driven by personal failure, and she and Dora agree that true treasures are found in discovering their authentic selves—Camila as the Crusader seeking redemption, and Dora as the Explorer embracing her identity. Driven by selflessness, they use their wish to ensure Diego’s internship does not get lost in the pursuit of riches or fame.

In the end, amid heartfelt goodbyes, Diego and Naiya reaffirm their bond, promising to stay connected as he heads to New York City. Dora watches him leave, and just as the journey seems to close, she witnesses a breathtaking green flash. Diego then hands her a new Map, promising more adventures await. Dora’s spirit of exploration remains alive, inspiring her to seek out new horizons with wonder and courage.
