In this realm, he is coerced by a mysterious figure known as the Salary Man to inflict torture upon Zane. Although Josh is briefly returned to his apartment, he is dragged back into the void after viewing more footage, which reveals that the video was a snuff film depicting the brutal murder of a woman named Maya.
As the cycle of violence continues, Josh discovers that Maya is watching his actions. Desperate to escape, he attempts to destroy the laptop, but the device reappears, pulling him back to purgatory once more. Josh eventually realizes that both he and Zane were condemned for viewing the footage. When Josh claims he does not belong there, Maya confronts him with the truth: Josh was fully aware of Zane’s escalating addiction to torture porn and did nothing to stop it.
Maya reveals a supernatural twist—she gained the power to lure viewers into her realm after her blood splashed onto a modem.
