Gautham Subramaniam, Ravi Mohan, is a doctor from a traditional Indian family living in Chennai, where both his father and mother are medical professionals and his dream has always been to follow in their footsteps. When the Government of India invites him to represent the country at a week-long medical conference in Russia, he is thrilled, packing quickly and readying to embark on the journey with five other young doctors. At the same time, his love interest Shenba, Kangana Ranaut, is introduced. She hails from the same village as Gautham’s sister Sarasu, Anu Hasan, who lives with her husband, Chetan. The two meet and quietly fall in love, choosing to keep their relationship a secret while navigating family expectations. Although Sarasu’s husband initially scoffs at the match, he ultimately witnesses a moment of tenderness—Gautham pinching Shenba’s waist—only to see the connection between them and grudgingly accept the union. With his parents’ blessing in place, Gautham looks forward to marriage after he returns from Russia.

The Moscow-bound chapter begins as Gautham lands in the city, navigates immigration procedures, and takes in a city that overwhelms him with its vast architecture and unfamiliar streets. He discovers that English isn’t widely spoken, and communication hinges heavily on Russian. A chance encounter with Anna, Mariya Kozhevnikova, when she drops her jacket at the airport, marks the start of a tangled turn in his trip. They connect over a shared moment of mistaken propriety and professional curiosity, and although their paths diverge, the memory of the coat lingers as the conference progresses.

After a successful conference, the team celebrates at a nightclub where Gautham again crosses paths with Anna. The night unfolds with warmth and laughter, but Anna’s heavy drinking leads to a tense turn when Gautham must accompany her back to her apartment. The morning after arrives with a shocking arrest: a Russian police officer drags Gautham from the room, and Anna is found murdered on her sofa. The seemingly open-and-shut case quickly snowballs into a fight for truth as Gautham becomes the target of abuse, suspicion, and imprisonment.

Aarthi Chinappa, Raai Laxmi, is appointed as the defendant lawyer to defend him, and the Indian consulate dispatches Raghavan Nambiar, Jayaram, to secure his release. In a desperate bid to escape the mounting pressure, Gautham finds himself drowning during a chaotic attempt to flee the police, only to be rescued by Aarthi when she reaches him on the shore and saves him with a kiss. Her feelings for him grow, though she keeps them in check once she learns of Shenba, complicating loyalties and desires.

Together, Gautham and Aarthi move through the shadowy corridors of St. Petersburg, trying to uncover who truly murdered Anna and why Gautham was entangled in the scandal. They endure a hostile mob and gunfire, narrowly escaping danger as they search for the truth. The trail eventually leads back to Raghavan Nambiar, a figure whose motives tie into a larger drug-trafficking scheme. The story unveils that Anna was once a Chennai-to-Russia drug courier who, at a turning point in her life, hesitated to reveal Raghavan’s illegal dealings. Before she could, she met a fatal end at the hands of Raghavan and his associates.

In the climactic moments, the police close in on the criminal, and Raghavan is shot dead by law enforcement. With the case cleared and justice served, Gautham is exonerated and finally reunites with Shenba to begin their wedding plans, his future now open to a life lived with both professional purpose and personal happiness. The film closes on a note of reconciliation, resilience, and the quiet triumph of truth over deceit.
