The film opens with a chilling act of violence: Alex Devan murders photographer Jeeva inside Jeeva’s own home. As the killer completes the deed, Jeeva manages to position a video camera to capture the moment, but crucially, Devan’s face remains off-screen. In the aftermath, Jeeva manages to mutter the killer’s name before the audio cuts out, leaving investigators with only a name and a trail of questions.

With the police hunting for the mysterious assassin, Devan shifts his attention to a new target: Chetta Raghu. The pursuit leads him to Chandigarh, where Devan’s path crosses with a meticulous CBI officer named Rathnavel. Rathnavel is dedicated to dismantling hoards and black markets that corrupt India’s staple grain supply, and once he identifies Chetta as the true mastermind behind the hoarding operation, his mission unexpectedly dovetails with Devan’s. Recognizing a common foe, Rathnavel decides to aid Devan and even brings in a skilled lawyer, Chakravarthy, to take up the legal fight on Devan’s behalf.

As the narrative unfolds through a powerful flashback, we learn the devastating backstory that fuels Devan’s vendetta. Chetta Raghu, once a friend, becomes an ever-watchful enemy who stalks and harasses Devan’s sister, Jacqueline. The relationship between Devan and Chetta deteriorates as Chetta’s obsession turns into cruelty and control. Jacqueline’s attempts to stand up to Chetta only provoke greater harassment, culminating in a public humiliation that fifes Devan and solidifies Chetta’s malevolent intent.

The flashback escalates to Jacqueline’s wedding day, where Chetta’s depravity reaches a shocking apex. He drugs Jacqueline and arranges for her to attend the ceremony in bridal attire with no undergarments, a calculated act of degradation designed to strip her dignity in front of witnesses. In a further act of brutality, Chetta forcibly removes the wedding attire before her guests and then executes both Jacqueline and her groom. The crime is so egregious that Devan is quickly framed as the culprit, turning his desire for justice into a personal crusade to clear his name and avenge his sister.

Back in the present, the layers of deceit begin to peel away as Devan’s case gains unexpected allies. Rathnavel’s involvement with the investigation signals a shift from a straightforward pursuit of a killer to a cooperative effort against a more systemic form of crime—one that ties together personal vengeance and societal corruption. The legal aid from Chakravarthy bolsters Devan’s chances in court, while the investigation edges closer to the truth about Chetta’s all-encompassing schemes.
