What Is Devan About?

Devan (Arun Pandiyan) murders photographer Jeeva (Thalaivasal Vijay) in his home; Jeeva’s dying shout of the killer is lost. Police chase Devan, who seeks revenge for his sister’s murder by targeting gangster Chetta (Saikumar). In Chandigarh CBI officer Ratnavel (Vijayakanth) captures him, then aids Devan after exposing Chetta’s crimes and hires lawyer Chakravarthy (Karthik). The story ends with Chetta’s death.

The film opens with a chilling act of violence: Alex Devan murders photographer Jeeva inside Jeeva’s own home. As the killer completes the deed, Jeeva manages to position a video camera to capture the moment, but crucially, Devan’s face remains off-screen. In the aftermath, Jeeva manages to mutter the killer’s name before the audio cuts out, leaving investigators with only a name and a trail of questions.
