Back in the city, Rot Worms carried by the blood he shed during the bridge fight quickly overpower the Brain Worms. Fred begins to transform into a zombie as the infection asserts itself. The reversal underscores the brutal stakes of the outbreak and the fragility of any hope for cure.

Jon discovers Fred is infected; Jon is overrun
