In this uneasy calm, Andrea Malatesta, Francesco Patanè the favored son and heir to the Malatesta clan, falls in love with Marilena Camporeale, the wife of the Camporeale boss who is now on the run. Marilena Camporeale, Elodie is drawn to Andrea as well, but she understands the danger that comes with crossing the rival families, so their romance remains clandestine and tightly concealed.

Michele Malatesta, Tommaso Ragno the clan’s patriarch, forces a harsh demand on his son: end the dangerous relationship. Yet the promise is not kept. The affair becomes public knowledge, and the lovers are driven to flee.
