On the Gargano promontory, two Apulian mafia families—the Malatesta and the Camporeale—vie for control of the territory. Their feud runs deep, marked by a brutal massacre in 1960 that left a lasting scar on the clan’s memory. More than forty years later, a fragile truce seems possible, aided by a third family, the Montanari, whose mediation keeps the violence at bay for the moment.

In this uneasy calm, Andrea Malatesta, Francesco Patanè the favored son and heir to the Malatesta clan, falls in love with Marilena Camporeale, the wife of the Camporeale boss who is now on the run. Marilena Camporeale, Elodie is drawn to Andrea as well, but she understands the danger that comes with crossing the rival families, so their romance remains clandestine and tightly concealed.

Michele Malatesta, Tommaso Ragno the clan’s patriarch, forces a harsh demand on his son: end the dangerous relationship. Yet the promise is not kept. The affair becomes public knowledge, and the lovers are driven to flee. In response, the Camporeales strike back with brutal force, killing Michele and plunging the clans back into war, even as Don Vincenzo Montanari, Michele Placido attempts to mediate the escalating bloodshed.

To honor his father’s memory, Andrea returns home with Marilena, who, having been expelled from the Camporeales for her betrayal, is kept prisoner within the Malatesta house and is carrying a child. The situation exposes them to a stark and bloody reality that tests their loyalties and desires. Andrea, encouraged by his widowed mother Teresa Malatesta, Lidia Vitale, grows increasingly obsessed with vengeance and a resolve to erase every member of the rival family from the map.

In this brutal landscape, power, love, and revenge intertwine, shaping the fate of the rival clans on the rugged Gargano coast and pulling all involved toward a future defined by old grievances and new consequences.
