In What’s After the Movie, a story filled with action, comedy, and unexpected twists, Sam, played by Rebel Wilson, is secretly a highly skilled agent on a secret mission during her best friend Betsy’s (Anna Camp) bachelorette party in Paris. The plot thickens when Betsy’s fiancé, Ryan Caldwell, portrayed by Justin Hartley, and his affluent family invite the bridal party to their private island estate in Savannah, Georgia. Sam, under orders from her handler Nadine (Sherry Cola), is instructed to attend the wedding, even after her disappearance. They demand access to a vault secured by the family’s rings, revealing a plot linked to the stolen valuables and incriminating files. During the hostage situation, Ryan gets shot in the leg after revealing that Chris is working with the mercenaries—adding layers of betrayal and urgency to the chaos. Sam fights valiantly, managing to outsmart and subdue several mercenaries, including Chris, and is believed to be dead after a fierce confrontation. However, Betsy notices her in the heat of the fight, and together they strive to rescue the hostages.

In a daring move, Betsy and Sam band together, using the house’s secret passages to escape from the mercenaries’ clutches and reach a nearby train depot, hoping to alert authorities and prevent further destruction. During this escape, Sam manages to steal Ryan’s wedding ring from Chris, who has further sinister plans involving the family’s valuable assets. The mercenaries, led by Kurt, then raid the family’s whiskey distillery, leaving Chris to face a perilous fate inside a whiskey still, with Betsy and Sam eventually coming to his rescue amidst a fiery explosion.

The chase intensifies with the use of the estate’s antique cannon, as Sam and Betsy commandeer a hovercraft across the grounds, pursued by Chris. A series of high-octane fights ensue—Sam fighting off the mercenaries, tossing Kurt overboard, and trying to secure the hard drive that holds evidence to clear Chris’s father’s name. During the chaos, Sam demonstrates her resourcefulness and bravery, risking her life to save her friends.

The story reaches its emotional climax at the wedding, where Betsy finally marries Ryan in a spontaneous ceremony. However, chaos erupts once more when Chris—badly burned—appears with a detonator linked to explosives scattered around the estate. Sam, showing her compassion and quick thinking, disarms him just as the detonator is accidentally triggered by a comical mishap involving the wedding bouquet. The detonator causes an explosion, destroying the mansion, but also bringing everyone to safety.

In the resolution, Nadine arrives with a rescue team, capturing the remaining mercenaries and ensuring that the threat is neutralized. The story concludes with Betsy and Ryan tying the knot amid the chaos, and Sam receiving the wedding bouquet—though she accidentally hits the detonator again, resulting in a humorous yet heartfelt toast to her friends and their newfound bond.
