Siva, a cinephile in Coimbatore, runs a single-screen theater out of pure love for cinema, not profit. This passion keeps the dream alive even as the auditorium turns money-losing and he faces growing financial trouble. He falls for Gayathri, a romance that is warmly charged but meets resistance from her parents, who urge him to give up his theater ambitions since they don’t bring in money. Siva, determined not to abandon his dream, stands by his calling and Gayathri even as love flickers on the edge of sacrifice.

A tax notice arrives, demanding Rs. 5 lakhs or the theater will be sealed. With mounting pressure, Siva decides to seek help from his childhood friend Madhan Kumar, a leading film director in the Telugu film industry. The slight hope of borrowing credibility through Madhan’s name becomes a driving force, even as the past and present tug him in different directions.

Fifteen years earlier, Madhan and Siva were school classmates and cinema-obsessed buddies who shared every film dream and plan. Madhan’s father, a government employee, forbids him from chasing movies after school because his grades slip. Yet Madhan is sharp and negotiates with his father: he will follow cinema only if he meets the marks his father sets. He keeps his end of the bargain, eventually heading to film school, while the family relocates away from Coimbatore.

In Chennai, Siva’s attempts to reach Madhan fail repeatedly. He stays with assistant directors and improvises, hoping for a chance to meet his old friend. When he finally encounters a producer named JP, Siva spins a tale of being Madhan’s associate and pitches a story, impressing JP enough to secure an advance of Rs. 5 lakhs. But Siva’s nerves betray him—he has no real directing experience. Madhan learns of the stunt of misrepresentation, and the reunion becomes awkward. Siva admits he is a devoted fan of Madhan, and the truth sinks in.

JP grows wary: he wants the story rights so he can make the movie with another director, but Siva refuses to hand them over. In a twist, Siva discovers that JP plans to make the film with Madhan after all, which brings a surprising sense of relief to him. He decides to let JP keep the rights for the project, quietly acknowledging Madhan’s rising star.

Meanwhile, Madhan meets Gayathri through matchmakers and falls for her. He proposes a wedding arrangement that Gayathri’s parents approve of, even though she isn’t initially interested. She agrees because Siva does not reciprocate her love, and thus the marriage would honor the bonds and sacrifices surrounding them all. Madhan travels to Coimbatore for the wedding and, upon seeing Siva’s photograph, realizes the depth of his childhood friend’s loyalty.

Nandhu, a close ally, reveals the sacrifices Siva has made for Madhan’s ascent, including putting his own heart on the line for the sake of Madhan’s success. This revelation weighs on Madhan, who feels a pang for not recognizing Siva sooner, yet also feels pride in knowing how selflessly Siva has supported him. In a heartfelt turn, Madhan decides to step back from his marriage plans, seeking out Siva in his theater. There, he chooses to unite Siva with Gayathri, reaffirming the enduring power of friendship and the sanctity of the ties that cinema often forges.
