While cleaning the moat, he reaches for a medallion that seems to pulse with unseen energy, and in a flash of light he’s pulled from the present into a rugged, 1328 England.

In this medieval realm, Jamal encounters a drunken guide named Knolte and soon begins to suspect that what he’s seen is not a simple theme park at all. The landscape looks real, with stone walls, banners, and the distant clang of armor. He becomes entangled in a strange misunderstanding: locals assume he is a Normandy messenger or even a foreign noble, a man from a different time. He himself claims he’s from Florence and Normandie, a famous crossroads that also nods to his own LA roots in a moment of awkward misdirection. The arrival of a bewandering crowd amplifies the confusion, and Jamal’s actions—big and small—start to tilt the balance of power around him.

Jamal is taken before King Leo, who believes he’s the messenger long expected to unite England and Normandy. To everyone’s surprise, Jamal speaks and acts in ways that win the king’s trust, even if Jamal has no genuine plan to save a kingdom. He commits to aiding the rebels and the townspeople in overturning King Leo’s grip on power, even as he tries to reconcile his modern instincts with the brutal realities of medieval warfare.

To win, Jamal leverages techniques he’s learned in the world of sports—American football tactics and pro wrestling’s showmanship—transforming the peasants into a cohesive fighting force. Knolte passes on practical sword-fighting stances and strategies that give the rebels an edge against armored guards. The plan culminates in a bold assault on the castle, where the rebels are momentarily cornered by the king’s seasoned guards and Percival, the loyal bodyguard. The mythical Black Knight returns to the fray, breathing fire and scattering the ranks, only to reveal a familiar face: Jamal himself, stepping into the legend.

The tide turns as the peasants overwhelm the defenses, but not without sacrifice. Knolte is wounded by Percival’s longbow and Victoria is taken hostage. King Leo’s plea for mercy is met with a brutal decision when Percival kills Leo and is himself killed by Knolte—an act that seals the revolution’s momentum. He musters the courage to ask her out, but in a comic stumble he forgets to ask for her number. He darts after her, only to tumble back into the moat and awaken once more in a different, perilous place—the Colosseum of Ancient Rome—where lions loom and the future seems uncertain.
