Parambrata Chatterjee as Ayan Sengupta, an aspiring ad director, arrives at a grand, palace-like residence to scout a setting for his new commercial and, in truth, to chase a dream of making a feature film despite a thin purse. Inside the sprawling Chowdhury Mansion, he meets a man who seems to know every corner of the place and who offers to tell him a story that blurs the line between fiction and reality. The storyteller is Kharaj Mukherjee as Promod Podhan, a figure who recounts the haunting history of the house and its inhabitants, inviting Ayan to listen as if the walls themselves remember every breath that ever filled the rooms.

The tale centers on the old, crumbling Chowdhury Mansion, once home to a powerful lineage and now haunted by the spirit of its last owner. As the story unfolds, other wandering ghosts drift through the corridors, each with their own memories and regrets. Among them are the enigmatic Saswata Chatterjee as Haatkata Kartik and Swastika Mukherjee as Kadalibala Dasi, who slowly shed their initial tension and begin to move through the house in a strange, almost ceremonial camaraderie. The atmosphere shifts from eerie unease to a shared, if wary, companionship as the apparitions navigate the fragile balance of their afterlife.

The past collides with the present when a clandestine plot emerges: a greedy plot dealer intends to repurpose the venerable mansion into a deluxe shopping mall. This threat awakens the ghosts, forcing them to unite and figure out a plan to protect the shelter that once offered them refuge. Into this struggle steps the film-within-a-film narrative, as Madhumita Sanyal—portrayed by Sreelekha Mitra—loses consciousness during a shoot for the movie Antarjash. When she regains her senses, she recounts seeing the reflection of an unknown woman in a mirror, a detail that deepens the mystery the living must confront.

As the ghosts begin to align their powers, the once disjointed group discovers that friendship can grow even among those who have passed beyond the mortal world. The specters’ solidarity becomes a quiet, determined resistance against the human threat to their shelter. The narrative threads together the lives of the house’s former residents and the present-day dreamer who wandered in by accident, hinting that the mansion’s fate is intertwined with a story that refuses to stay buried.
