Surya Narayan [Jeet] is a former software engineer who quits his job to help a poor friend, choosing an uncertain path that leaves him unemployed in the small city of Cooch Behar.

Poulomi [Sayantika Banerjee], a college student from Kolkata, visits Cooch Behar for vacation and stays with her elder brother Madan Mohan [Kharaj Mukherjee] and his wife [Kamalika Banerjee]. At the Ransh Mela, Surya is struck by love at first sight and begins pursuing her, even moving into the upper portion of their house as a tenant alongside his elder brother Upendra Narayan [Biswajit Chakraborty] and his sister-in-law [Tulika Basu]. Soon he finds himself at odds with the local rowdy Shanatan Panja [Tamal Roychowdhury], a clash that adds tension to the budding romance.

Poulomi initially dislikes Surya, mistaking him for a tapori, but as she gets to know him, she begins to see the true, steadfast nature beneath his playful exterior. She eventually returns to Kolkata to live with her older brother Indrajit [Ashish Vidhyarthi], a former builder who has become a powerful and possessive protector of his sister.
