Siva Reddy, the opposition’s rising star, sets in motion a plan to swing an upcoming election by staging a failed assassination that would supposedly win him sympathy votes. To pull this off, he teams up with his loyal deputy Baaji Reddy and their aide Farukh, who enlist a contract killer named Nandu and his partner Malli. The scheme hinges on misdirection, calculated danger, and a web of loyalties that blur the line between politics and crime.

On the day of the staged attack, the plan spirals beyond anyone’s control. Siva Reddy is genuinely shot, turning a manufactured crisis into a real one. In the ensuing chaos, Nandu barely escapes as Malli dies in a car accident, and he vaults onto a speeding train to disappear from the authorities. The spectacle of the fake plot collapses into a volatile reality that none of the schemers anticipated, and the consequences begin to ripple through every corner of Basarlapudi.

On the train, fate introduces Pardhu, a youth returning to his hometown after a long, secret exit from his past. The encounters are fraught with coincidence and consequence as the police close in, and a misfire by a sub-inspector accidentally targets Pardhu instead of Nandu. In the confusion, Nandu seizes the moment to slip away and heads back toward Basarlapudi. There, Pardhu’s family, unaware of Nandu’s true identity, welcomes him with open arms as though he were their long-lost kin. The warmth of their acceptance slowly unsettles him, pulling him deeper into a family life he did not intend to inhabit.

As the bonds grow, Nandu finds himself drawn to Pardhu’s cousin, Poori, and a quiet, shared affection blossoms between them. He uses his time with the family to shield and support them, helping to safeguard their farmland, aiding a struggling family touched by Pardhu’s past, and even withdrawing money from his own account to fund Poori’s sister’s wedding. He confides his real identity to Pardhu’s childhood friend Ramana, revealing the conflict between the life he’s living and the truth he keeps hidden. The human costs of the conspiracy begin to press in from every side, and the line between protector and infiltrator becomes increasingly blurred.

Meanwhile, Anjaneya Prasad—the dogged CBI officer investigating Siva Reddy’s assassination—pursues the inconsistencies he uncovers. He travels to Basarlapudi and looks for answers, but the trail initially leads nowhere definitive, with Malli as the apparent culprit in the eyes of the investigators. Desperate for clarity, Prasad seeks the counsel of Saadhu, the former mentor who once guided Nandu, Malli, and Pardhu. A clandestine confirmation reveals the truth behind the original payment for the job and the location of Nandu’s withdrawal from his bank account. Realizing the knot is tighter than he thought, Prasad uses a sharp combination of pressure and wit to coax Nandu into revealing himself, driving him to flee once more.

The confrontation shifts into the open when Prasad arrives at Pardhu’s household with the troubling truth. The family’s world shatters, yet Ramana defends Nandu, insisting on acknowledging the good Nandu has done despite his deception. The moral tension intensifies as Pardhu’s grandfather, Satyanarayana Murthy, privately counsels Nandu. He acknowledges the weight of love and the courage it took to act, handing Nandu a shotgun once owned by Pardhu’s father—the instrument of a past tragedy—encouraging him to seek the truth and to clear his name. A crucial detail remains hidden from all—the gun’s barrel was obstructed, a marbled obstacle that would play into the climactic moments.

With the truth inching closer to the surface, Nandu reaches out to Baaji Reddy, using a forged recording to force a confession. Baaji Reddy’s plan unravels as he reveals that Malli is still alive and was bribed to assassinate Siva Reddy and frame Nandu, all in a scheme to secure the chief minister’s chair. The revelation is captured in a covert recording, a weapon that could topple the corrupt operation if it ever reached the court.

Nandu traces Malli to a church, where a confrontation with Baaji Reddy’s corrupt officers ensues. In the ensuing struggle, Nandu eliminates the assailants and confronts Malli, who wrests Nandu’s shotgun. The obstructed barrel—once again a fatal flaw—backfires, killing Malli. Prasad arrives just in time to seize the moment, and Nandu hands over the incriminating recording. Baaji Reddy is cornered and tries to downplay the evidence as inadmissible, but Prasad reminds him that the truth has a way of resurfacing, especially when family bloodline and political vengeance collide. Faced with exposure, Baaji Reddy takes his own life.

The aftermath centers on whether a man can ever fully escape the consequences of his choices. Prasad confronts Nandu in the wake of Pardhu’s last rites, addressing him as Pardhu and declaring that his name has been officially cleared, allowing him to live free with his newfound family. Reborn in a sense, Nandu returns to Basarlapudi to build a life rooted in the bonds he forged with Pardhu’s relatives, a life that reframes his past and sets a new course for his future.

The film threads together ambition, loyalty, guilt, and forgiveness, showing how a single act—meant to manipulate the political game—unravels into a much larger, human drama.
