Frieda Da Silva [Sarah-Jane Dias] is a fashion photographer who gathers a close-knit circle of friends at her family home to announce her upcoming wedding. The guests travel from different corners of India to join in the moment: Jo [Amy Maghera], an aspiring actress; Mad [Anushka Manchanda], a Bollywood singer whose charisma hides deeper struggles; Pammy [Pavleen Gujral], a trophy wife with her own set of expectations; Su [Sandhya Mridul], a sharp businesswoman with a practical outlook; and the activist Nargis [Tannishtha Chatterjee], whose presence adds a charged political edge to the reunion. As the plan to reveal the engagement unfolds, Frieda explains that her father won’t be attending the ceremony, a detail that casts a quiet shadow over the celebrations. Mad’s boyfriend—who arrives looking for her—unintentionally drops a heavy truth: Mad is dealing with depression and thoughts of self-harm. Soon after this confessional tone, the group escapes to Goa, where the atmosphere shifts from formal celebration to a spontaneous, unstructured night out. The trip becomes an impromptu bachelorette party, a space where the women begin to loosen the layers they’ve built around themselves and start to bond more deeply. As they mingle, their conversations drift across topics as broad as intimacy and consent and as intimate as personal dreams and disappointments. The disclosure lands just as they prepare for a beach picnic that will mark the eve of Frieda’s wedding.

On the night of the beach gathering, tensions flare. A rift between Jo and the rest of the group over Jo’s accent leads to a stormy exit, but the celebration presses on into the early hours. When it’s time to return home, Jo is missing, and a search reveals a devastating scene: Jo has died on the beach, and the police deem the death suspicious, with preliminary inquiries casting shame on the women and highlighting the relentless scrutiny they face in a patriarchal society.

The aftermath is devastating. Su’s daughter Maya had secretly followed Jo and captured evidence that points to a brutal truth: a gang of six men were responsible for harassment and the rape that led to Jo’s death. Fueled by anger and a sense of justice, Su returns to the beach armed with a gun and is soon joined by the others in a frenzied pursuit of impending vengeance. In a tense sequence, Su fires at four of the attackers, driven by desperation and grief, while Nargis stops her from crossing a line. Mad then takes possession of the weapon and eliminates the remaining two assailants, bringing a chilling sense of closure to the immediate roadside crisis.

At Jo’s funeral, the women offer a series of heartfelt and symbolic tributes, with Nargis delivering a speech that honors the dignity and worth of every woman and envisions a future in which women can write their own destinies. The gathering is interrupted by the police officer, who presses for confessions and insists that the women accept guilt for what happened, a stark reminder of the ongoing oppression they confront.
