Early on, disaster strikes: Griff accidentally kills the snake they intended to film with, an accident that rattles the group and sends him and a snake handler named Santiago into the dense jungle to locate a replacement. The expedition quickly shifts from a simple homage to a raw fight for safety, as the jungle proves unforgiving and the environment grows more menacing with each passing hour. The team gains an unexpected addition in Ana, a woman who claims to be pursuing illegal gold miners, and Doug, ever the consummate facilitator, decides to weave Ana into their storyline. This decision fuels tension with Griff, who already carries a fragile ego and a growing need to control the narrative.

A new wind blows when another film crew—also claiming to remake Anaconda—blows into the area, prompting a fierce confrontation with Griff. The confrontation exposes Griff’s previously concealed lie about owning the legal rights to the franchise, a revelation that shatters the fragile camaraderie. After a heated argument, Griff departs to join the rival crew, only to discover their set is left in ruins and the entire cast and crew is missing. Ana’s true nature gradually comes to light: she is an illegal miner on the run from law enforcement. A police officer arrives to detain her, but Griff reappears and shoots the officer, mistaking him for a villain. Ana then threatens the remaining crew, demanding that they gather gold for her, all while the deadly anaconda continues to stalk the jungle and threaten anyone who crosses its path. In a brutal turn of events, the slithery predator drags Ana underwater, claiming her life as the crew struggles to hold the line against the unknowable force that now seems determined to ruin everything they have built.

As the group attempts to return home, Doug is attacked by the very creature they sought to imitate, a terrifying reminder that their project has veered into a nightmare. Kenny, Griff, and Claire later discover Doug’s body and, in a grim bid to distract the predator, use him as bait—an act born of desperation that underscores how close to the edge they have drifted. Guided by a wrecked film set they stumble upon, the friends cross paths with Ice Cube, who lends a hand and helps them stage a pyrotechnic assault to kill the snake.
