The story of this film centers around Shiva, a dedicated CB-CID officer played by Ajith Kumar, who is deeply committed to preventing terrorist activities. His main objective is to foil the plans of John Chinnappa, a scientist involved in controversial experiments with human guinea pigs, creating unstable and potentially dangerous tablets.

John, portrayed by Sathyan Sivakumar, is a notorious figure whose work has always sparked suspicion and suspicion without concrete evidence. Despite his notoriety, his actions remain shrouded in mystery due to the lack of witnesses to testify against him. The plot thickens when an ex-gang member turned police informant, General Ram Prasad, played by Devan, becomes a crucial link in exposing John’s schemes. Ram Prasad has decided to turn approver but is now on the run, fearing retaliation and charges in the case. The responsibility of bringing John to justice falls to Commissioner Karthikeyan, Shiva’s father, played by Nassar, who assigns Shiva the challenging task of infiltrating the situation.

To gather intelligence and protect Ram Prasad’s daughter, Pooja, played by Pia Bajpiee, Shiva is instructed to go undercover at St. John’s College in Ooty, Tamil Nadu. This move is essential not only for his investigation but also to keep Pooja safe from her father’s enemies, who are eager to silence her and her father forever.

*Reluctant at first due to his unfamiliarity with modern student life, Shiva pleads with his father, emphasizing his lack of experience with the current generation. The general notes, almost coincidentally, that Pooja is a student at the same college where Ram Prasad is hiding. Consequently, Shiva chooses to return to college, but this time as a mature student, despite being much older than the other pupils. His entry is met with teasing from students and the antics of goofy teachers, as well as the comically forgetful principal, Albert Aadiyapatham, played by Jayaram.

As Shiva begins his undercover mission, he slowly navigates the complex social environment of college life. He encounters Narain, initially believed to be just another student, but who eventually reveals himself as Shiva’s half-brother. Narain, played by Navdeep, and Pooja quickly become key figures in Shiva’s life. Pooja, played by Nayanthara, is Narain’s best friend, and she secretly envies the attention he receives from other girls. Shiva, meanwhile, develops a romantic interest in Mallika, an attractive and intelligent chemistry teacher played by an actress in the cast, who he is drawn to because of her beauty and personality.

During his routine jogging sessions around the college, Shiva spots Ram Prasad and begins tracking him, ultimately chasing him. Ram Prasad manages to escape using a helmet-clad bike rider, who is later revealed to be Narain, adding tension to Shiva’s investigation. Meanwhile, Pooja uncovers that Narain has indeed been secretly assisting her father, which leaves her feeling betrayed and conflicted about her feelings.

Despite her hurt, Pooja refuses to communicate with Narain after uncovering his true involvement. When John’s men come to kidnap Pooja, Narain tries to make amends, but is beaten up while attempting to protect her. Shiva intervenes in the conflict, rescuing Pooja and standing up against John’s operatives. The bond among the characters strengthens after the incident, and Shiva takes Narain home, where he is introduced to his mother, Kasthuri, played by [Suhasini Maniratnam], revealing more about Shiva’s tragic and complex past.

The flashbacks depict Shiva’s childhood as an orphan, explaining the physical and emotional distance between his parents and the reasons behind their separation. While staying in college, Pooja introduces Shiva to Ram Prasad, leading to a dramatic reveal: Shiva quickly arrests Ram Prasad, which disappoints Pooja and Narain. The revelation of Shiva’s true identity as a police officer shocks everyone, especially when he declares his mission to capture John.

Using tactical prowess, Shiva navigates John’s hideout, avoiding a series of carefully laid traps. A tense and action-packed confrontation ensues, culminating in John Chinnappa’s death during a fierce fight where Shiva proves his bravery and righteousness. The climax underscores Shiva’s dedication to justice, overcoming the controversial scientist’s dangerous experiments.

In the final moments, we see Mallika enjoying a happy gathering with Shiva’s parents and Narain, highlighting a sense of peace and familial unity. Meanwhile, Shiva, having successfully completed his mission, departs for Afghanistan on another assignment, leaving behind his personal life and the college world he’s come to cherish.
