Yoshimasa Hosoya (細谷 佳正) was born on February 10, 1982 in Onomichi, Hiroshima Prefecture, Japan. After completing his secondary education, he pursued performance studies at Tokyo Announce Gakuin Performing Arts College and later refined his craft at the Mausu Promotion Actor Training Center. His early training equipped him with a versatile vocal range that would soon become his hallmark in the competitive world of Japanese voice acting. Hosoya entered the professional arena in 2004, initially affiliating with the prominent talent agency Mausu Promotion, where he honed his skills under seasoned mentors before opting for a freelance career in 2014, a move that granted him greater artistic freedom. Throughout his more than a decade‑long career, Hosoya has built an extensive résumé that spans television anime, video games, and narrations. He is perhaps best known for his dynamic portrayal of Reiner Braun in the global sensation Attack on Titan, a role that earned him critical acclaim and contributed to his winning the Best Supporting Actor award at both the 8th and 10th Seiyu Awards.
