William Ragsdale: Movies & Box Office

Robert William Ragsdale, born January 19, 1961, is a dedicated American actor known for multifarious roles in film and television alike. His acting prowess garnered the attention of audiences, particularly in projects such as the cult horror-comedy film Fright Night (1985) and its sequel Fright Night Part 2 (1988). Ragsdale also amassed significant recognition through his humorous portrayal of Herman Brooks on the popular 90's television series Herman's Head (1991–94).

Born in El Dorado, Arkansas, he cultivated a fondness for theater, attending Hendrix College where he appeared in several plays. His career has been sporadic, varying from Neil Simon's renowned plays Brighton Beach Memoirs and Biloxi Blues, to romantic comedies like Mannequin Two: On the Move. He's had recurring roles in Judging Amy and Grosse Pointe, and starred in short-lived sitcom Brother's Keeper. Notably, he featured in Ellen as the love interest of the main character before her coming out, and he's had numerous guest roles on other prime-time shows. Ragsdale is also familiar to audiences through his role as Gary Hawkins in the hit series 'Justified'. His dynamic career even stretches to Broadway, with appearances in productions such as Man from Nebraska at the Second Stage Theatre. As of 2023, he's returned to his horror roots, starring as a vampire-hunting priest in the comedy Renfield.
