Tuesday Weld (born Susan Ker Weld, August 27, 1943) is a retired American actress with her active years from 1955 to 2001. She started her acting career as a child, maturing into adult roles by the late 1950s. She bagged a Golden Globe Award for Most Promising Female Newcomer in 1960 and went on to cement her career with dramatic roles in films over the next decade. Notably, Weld often depicted impulsive and reckless women. She was nominated for a Golden Globe for her performance in Play It as It Lays (1972), an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress for her role in Looking for Mr. Goodbar (1977), an Emmy Award for The Winter of Our Discontent (1983), and a BAFTA for her role in Once Upon a Time in America (1984). Although she made fewer acting appearances after the late 1980s, she has been remembered for her pivotal role in shaping the American film industry.

Weld was born on August 27, 1943, in Manhattan. Her father, Lathrop Motley Weld, came from the illustrious Weld family of Massachusetts. After the death of her father in 1947 (she was just under four years old), Weld was the mainstay of the family, working as a model due to financial hardships. Weld had two siblings, Sarah King Weld and David Balfour Weld. She famously changed her name to Tuesday Weld on October 9, 1959. Her acting career kicked off at the age of 12, and she made her feature film debut the same year in a minor role in the 1956 Alfred Hitchcock crime drama The Wrong Man. She has several blockbuster films and TV shows to her credit, with her last credited role in Ethan Hawke's Chelsea Walls in 2001.
