Mathilde O'Callaghan "Tig" Notaro (born March 24, 1971) is widely recognized for her impact in the world of comedy, radio, writing, and acting, and specifically recognized for her idiosyncratic deadpan style. Notaro has enjoyed critical acclaim, with her album Live nominated in 2014 for the Grammy Award for Best Comedy Album. Her illustrious career has seen her nominated for awards at prestigious ceremonies, such as the Primetime Emmy Awards. Notaro was born in Jackson, Mississippi, and attended school there before moving to Texas. She was named "Tig" by her brother, a nickname that stuck. Notaro’s career began in earnest when she moved to Denver, working in the music industry and eventually transitioning to stand-up comedy. After moving to Los Angeles, her career took off as she began to be featured in prominent comedic circles, culminating in a successful podcast run from 2011 to 2015. In 2011, she received critical praise for her debut stand-up album, Good One, and followed this success up with another album, Live, in 2012.

Despite facing serious health challenges, including a cancer diagnosis, Notaro has remained a prevalent figure in the comedy scene.
