Sung Kang: Movies & Box Office

Sung Kang, more formally known as Sung-Ho Kang, is a distinguished American actor, director, and producer. He was born in Clarkston, Georgia to Korean immigrant parents and raised in Gainesville, Georgia. He later moved to California during his high school years. Kang attended the University of California, Riverside, where he fostered his passion for acting, even choosing it over law school. His acting career took off with his first significant role as Han Lue in Better Luck Tomorrow (2002), directed by Justin Lin. He also enacted the character John Mak in the popular television series Power.

Over the years, Kang reprised the role of Han Lue in the globally acclaimed Fast & Furious franchise in multiple installments like Fast & Furious, Fast Five, and Fast & Furious 6. He initially appeared in The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift, even learning to drift for the role. Beyond the Fast franchise, The actor has played significant parts in various other movies like War (2007) with Jet Li, Forbidden Warrior, Live Free or Die Hard, and Bullet to the Head (2013) with Sylvester Stallone. He also portrayed the FBI Agent Tae Kim in the short-lived crime procedural series, Gang Related on FOX. Off-screen, Kang extended his public persona by starting a YouTube channel 'Sung's Garage' in 2020, hosting the podcast of the same name.
